I knew I'd see this comment, and I actually said the same thing when my wife said that they need to "shoot from everywhere", but I think you guys get the gist of what I'm saying.
-
The Wings were dominated in the 3rd period. Penalties were definitely in favor of the Ducks. They will need more shots, better shots and to continue to play well defensively. Chelios is a god on the ice.
-
They weren't that bad, save for the 3rd period and the penalties, some of which I disagreed with completely. What worries me MORE are the lack of shots on Giguere. Gotta work him harder.
-
Detroit can definitely play better. Hasek really kept them in it in the 3rd. More shots on Giguere are needed, because those bounces may be the only ones we get...
-
CALDER HAS A BROKEN HAND. Stop complaining about his play. Complain about Lang and Bertuzzi. I must say that Anaheim's 4th line was surprisingly MUCH better than ours, and that is just unacceptable.
-
Agreed. Bounces went for Detroit. Calls went for the Ducks. Anaheim was buzzing in the 3rd. It is important that the Wings win both games at home, because as badly as the puck was bouncing, it's only going to get worse in CA.
-
"It all comes down to the fact that VERSUS sucks." Keep this in mind, and it won't bother you so much. It's how I got over it.
-
I caught that, too. Disgusting. I actually like how Anaheim plays tough. Hits, trash talk, whatever. It's helped them win. However, the cheap shots are unacceptable.
-
Perhaps Hasek will finally start getting some respect. Ducks played very strong. What I expected from San Jose. Should be a nailbiter of a series.
-
I heard that all of you like Calgary's.
-
Exciting start. Just imagine Datsyuk getting behind the Sabres' D. I think Anaheim would stand up to Buffalo well, also.

When the Sharks and Kings aren't playing, then the Ducks have fans
Zion replied to a topic in General
I lived in California from June of 93 to November of 06. Kings fans are much more loyal than Ducks fans, and the so-called Kings fans who are cheering on the rival Ducks are not true Kings fans, in my opinion. They don't like each other. -
I think Pronger is better than Niedermayer and will be a more important factor.
-
Why not? Minnesota and Vancouver handed them their wins. I like it. The Duck.
-
Yeah, the Wings are pretty banged up.
-
Anaheim fans have every reason to be cocky. They were dominant this season, even competing with Buffalo and Detroit for the President's Trophy. If Pronger stayed healthy and they didn't hit that skid after the New Year, they may have won it. They've breezed into the WCF, picking up right where they left off. I would be cocky, too. I'm just proud of the Wings. They're off the Schneid (pardon the pun) and should give them a good series. Hopefully they can stay healthy and pull out a victory.

I forgot!!!! Happy Birthday, Steve!

Typical Californian. Doesn't know what the f*** he's talking about. I've lived an hour from Anaheim and an hour from Detroit, so I am well aware of the differences in the economy. I don't give a f*** what "excuses" you "buy into". You're not from the area, so how the f*** would you know? It must be because the Wings suck and the fans don't like them. That's the only possible reason they're not selling out. Edited for spelling

Beauchemin is very good and I was a big Sean O'Donnell fan when he played for the L.A. Kings. This will be the BEST defense the Wings have seen this postseason, and that (above all else) should be the determining factor of the series.
-
I agree with the Ducks fan who said that the longer the series goes, the more it favors the Ducks. They're a bruising team that has had an easy ride to the WCF and Detroit is a much-less bruising team that has had easily the toughest ride to the CF of any of the final four. While the Ducks COULD win in 4 or 5 games, they most likely would win in 6 or maybe 7. The Wings, if they win, would most likely do it quickly, which makes games 1 & 2 THE pivotal games of the series. A split in Anaheim would suffice ONLY if games 1 & 2 are won.
-
I hate Ryan Smyth. Never.
-
The Ducks SHOULD win this series. They have had an easy ride, they're healthy and a GREAT team. That said, San Jose was supposed to beat the Wings, too. Should be a great series.
-
I, too, am in Western New York. Go Red Wings!!!
-
Ducks fans finally have a reason to be cocky. The Wings have proven they're still a force in the West and in the NHL. This should be a great series. Go Red Wings!
