  1. I'm surprised he got a game at all based on their standards. I'll take it, I guess.

I am surprised too looked weak on the replay.. more like the PHI player moved his head in the way.. But at least they are sending the message.. If your losing, and trying to take the other team out, your going to get suspended.. Good move IMO

  2. From what I seen in the 2nd and 3rd.. we were served up the win by the Refs.. They have been horrible all playoffs.. Pekka made some great saves, and NSH made Howie look horrible. NSH is the better team.. If there is any fight left in the wings dressing room it will come out friday. Otherwise Golf Season.

  3. Webers goal to open game 3 comes to mind......weren't there 2 Preds pretty much dry humping Howards pads when that puck went it?

They showed a good replay of that goal...

Look at Kotstitsin(I dont care how to spell his name.. looks like #46) at around 0:46 .. gets pushed, then hits Stewart into Howard, Howard was trying to get into position, but couldn't because Stewart was in the way...

ps. I am not complaining... Just stating that its been going both ways, and while we were disadvantaged by it. "That's Hockey" "Let Em Play"

  4. True....but I also don't believe Shanny is nothing more than a figure head either.

Funniest/most disturbing thing to emerge from yesterdays brawl-olopalooza was Crosbys unwaivering defense of his own Douchebaggery. That clown was the central figure in the first brawl....not only touching it off with his Paul Bunyan tactics on Bryz.....but then fanning the flames with his impersonation of a Canadian curler....brooming Voraceks glove away from him. He actually defended his actions by saying.......tell me if you've heard this before......"its playoff hockey" and this nugget of wisdom "what am I suppose to do, pick his glove up?" No Sid.....you don't have to pick it up.....but I'm guessing acting like a 3 year old knocking over another kids sandcastle wasn't the appropriate behavior either......how about leave it alone.....jackhole.

The only thing that makes me mad about Crosby, is he acts like a kid. If he would've said.. we were down 3-1 and I was starting s*** to fire my team up.. well ATLEAST that is a purpose! but no, he's like yeah I screwed up, but your not going to get me to admit it! He starts "fights" and throws punches when the guy is down, and covered by the ref, but before when they were letting them fight, he wanted no part of it... Like Uh,Oh, I gotta fight now.. Just such a coward scumbag.. If your looking for a fighting captain, look at Iginla(sp) for inspiration, I <HATE> Iginla, but at least he has my respect. I hope after this year, the league will start investing in a new face..

  5. The intangibles are going to decide this series. Who is the hungrier team? We will find out when the series is over.

If the Wings have the heart, they will find a way to win it. Its really that simple.

I have to agree with this. If the Wings want it bad enough I think they can pull it out.

  6. The problems that I have with Crosby, are not really HIS fault. He doesn't get called for the cheap shots, the diving, and other on ice antics, while it seems like anyone that makes a close play on him gets the shaft. Its goes back to the "its not fair" playground rules.. If a guy keeps calling foul in a backyard basketball game with the slightest contact, you learn not to play with him anymore.. Well looks like lots of people are getting to that point with him.

Has nothing to do with his exceptional skills. But the way he carries himself.

  7. All in all. It's on Crawford... Wings have 2 or 3 goals right now if he's not playing out of his mind this afternoon.

I agree, He has been great.. Crawford + Post = Blackhawks win.. At least the Wings are playing good hockey, and its OK to lose today, but during the playoffs I hope they figure out howto score...

  8. Not even trying? Where do you get that?

I think 3:23 minutes of ice time is a little premature to assess Sheahan.

He has more penalty mins than ice time... He does good sitting in the box..

But really he wasn't an embarrassment, looks good going after the puck and controlling it for his first game.

  9. The one thing I want the Wings to do that I see other teams to against us is crash the net, and look for the ugly rebound.. It seems like if it doesn't make it on the initial shot, the Wings are already looking and skating backwards for defense, not really jumping in and collapsing on the net.. If they can get a shot and a rebound shot, I'd be more happy..

But overall good first period from the wings.. Great kill, and lets see what happens in Period 2

  10. I like this thought, but there's no way he only takes the 1mil for this season, regardless of the overall payday, he's been making over 2 million a season and I would imagine wants another payday before his career is over... lets call a spade a spade, he's the best at what he does, but he's too one dimensional to take a lot of the cap...

What I would love to see them do, is give him a 2 yr/4 million contract - 2.5 million for 2010 and 1.5 million base salary for 2011, but with bonuses which could raise him to 2.5 for 2011 - actual cap hit of 2 million a year... then, if he hits his bonus marks, it means he had a great year in 2011 and earned his 2.5, of which, we can defer some of that bonus salary to the following year if needed for cap space reasons...

Looking at his salary history. Looks like he has been getting nice raises since he started with us... He always had heart and been competitive, but I think the the bonus Idea is great. Let him earn the chance to make some extra cash, give him a goal to work towards as well as keep him competitive, if not, then nothing lost. But he should have the opportunity to earn more based on the brutal punishment he has taken for our team. I don't see many players risking their bodies like he does, and well should be rewarded for it sometime.

  11. NHL playoffs cant make news, but on YAHOO, its front page

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Red-Wings-could-be-fined-for-breaking-San-Jose-c?urn=nhl,237605

"The Wings told the paper they weren't aware of the curfew or the potential fine. If they don't successfully fight it, Detroit owner Mike Ilitch will be left with two options: Paying the $2,500 fine or buying the city of San Jose and changing the law. Because we're pretty sure he can afford to do either, or both."

    Good quote though
