Well, I can see that. After all both did win the Cup last year and Daniel was the Conn Smythe. Oh wait... They are both good players, but they haven't won anything to deserve this kind of money. They can say goodbye to Vancouver if they want that kind of money and say hello to some crappy team that has no chance of making the playoffs. Hello Islanders.

Let's not forget that Flip was tied for the team lead in assists in the playoffs along with Henrik freaking Zetterberg. I think that is a testament to his playmaking ability. It's really not that absurd of a comparison that Flip is a young Datsyuk. If you remember, Datsyuk was a pass first, shoot second guy early in his career, just like Flip. Babs and Kenny have been saying that Flip needs to shoot more, just as they said about Dats early on. Also, Flip is smaller and gets pushed around a little bit, not a lot though. Same thing happened to Dats early on until he bulked up a little bit and started to do the pushing. Also, both Flip and Dats have great puck handling skills and are able to shift their bodies on a dime. Flip's Superman goal shows off that skill perfectly. Kenny and Babs believe in him, which has been seen by their refusal to trade him. Flip fits perfectly with Hossa and he will only become a better and stronger player over time.
