Automotive angle? I was speakng more about the housing angle. The droves of people leaving the area angle. The empty space, reported to be as large as San Fran proper, in the city angle. The crime rate increase angle. Those angles, that when compared to the chance of Pittsburgh losing a hockey tema in 10 years, look a bit more likely. I'n not surprised that my comment looked like flame to you and your ilk, you just aren't smart enough or a thorough enough readers to understand why I phrased my comment as I did.

There is a better chance of Pittsburgh having and NHL team in 10 years than there is of Detroit surviving intact as a viable and non-perpetually bailed out city. There is a slim chance that either will happen. Factually though, Pittsburgh has locked in the Pens for the next 30 pus years and Detroit is suffering more than most cities as of late and has the best chance (of any city) to fail. Also, allow me to piont out that nothing in my post alerted you the fact that I was a new fan; that was just another case of you making up portions of your argument in a failing attempt to strengthen it. Solid as say what? Being too lazy to look up a topic to see if it has already been covered. Being non-topical enough to bring up a situation that happened about a month ago. Can you document that 95%, or are you just making up statistics in the hopes of making this pathetic accusation seem somewhat true? About that decade, I bet there is a greater chance of Pittsburgh having an NHL team in 10 years than there is the probability that Detroit will be a functioning city without a populace supported by US Govt. handouts.

You are so right. It is Pittsburgh's fault. We shouldn't have elected that kid to be our spokesperson. I was against it, but majority rules. It was either that classless kid or some debate champion from Harvard. In the end, I think the kid's Iron City tattoo helped him edge out the egghead in votes. You live and you learn I guess.

A 16 or 17 year old kid from about 100 miles outside Pittsburgh made a threat. It was pretty much a lark. He had no idea he was doing anything wrong. He figure he was jut talking smack.

And of course the 4 or 5 people on page 1 who claimed they didn't understand the post wasn't any kind of evidence to sink your theory? Try again, chappy. I wonder if Bettman has the balls to set-up another short-handed goal to turn the game around on Tuesday. I bet he is pissed that it was Staal who took Crosby's scene. He had to be happy it worked out, but pissed at the photo opps it lent. I wonder though, chuklz, will they let both teams play a "real' game 7 once there are no more ratings to gather? Or do they also want a particular team to win? If so, why are you even watching, writing about or focusing on it? Doesn't it seem like a huge waste of time to watch an orchestrated series, especially given you think the team you want to win is written in the script to lose? I guess the other questiong is, which players are in on the fixes? You know that PPs can't be the only thing that Bettman relies on to sway a game. PPs are a good start but not enough to get the desird outcome. There must be players getting paid to help decide the outcome. So, lets brainstorm that. Which of our respective team's players are dirty rotten scumbags on the take conspiring with the league? Is it Ozzie anf Fluery? They both have let in soft goals in their losses. Is it defensive players? The Pens keep screening their own keeper and the Red Wings looked prety soft in game 4 on D, especially on the last three goals.

This thread is the sole reason I am against a 2-day break between games.

You need to learn what a strawman is. The need to or the strategy behind Hossa's hit has nothing to do with how classless it might be. And thank you fo helping to solidify the original point ever more. The fact that Hossa had even less of a reason to perpetrate such a ridiculous act might add to the classless factor. One might argue that the Penss at least had a message to send and some frustration to let loose of.

Elbows happen every few minutes in hockey....running an unsuspectring goalie from behind happens much less often.

and THANK YOU for coming in and heping to solidfy the original point. One is a "bump" and the other is a vicious elbow. Had it been the oter way, you might call the elbow a high check with the arm up a bit and the goalie shot a nefarious attempt to injure.

I think cheering aloud in any form is rude to the other team and their fans. I know we HAVE to keep score in order to determine an outcome, but that is kind of thoughtless too.

Going back to what I have already said, I'm not sure you can be helped. There are some that understood this thread. There are others that just couldn't quite grasp it. You fall in the latter category. The thread itself can be read and reread and reread. I suggest you start there. Call me douchey, but I thought it was a pretty easy concept to figure out.
