idk if anyone has posted this yet but hossa is gonna make (if my math is right) around 7.4 million through the first 8 years, that's gonna make it hard to retain toews kane and keith

"Darren Dreger says the Hossa deal in done with Chicago. Details are not finalized, but Bob McKenzie says it will be a cap hit of slightly more than $5 million per year. Could be up to a 12-year deal. Will have precise details soon." off of the free agent frenzy thing on tSN

well lets at least hope they signed him to a multi-year deal
-
glad someone said it

Does anyone have any idea what he's looking for? I'd love to see tanguay in a wings uniform. But i have no idea what he's lookin for
-
hahahahahhahahahaha, true that. i would love to see havlat come to detroit
-
haha i thought that was real at first until it kept goin lol. nice work
-
haha that gave me a good laugh for the day lol

Caps are my team (other than the wings obviously). The young guns are sick. Ovie, semin, backstrom, and green (and varly now, given he is still good next season he'll be in the "young guns"). how can you go wrong? federov is still one of my favs, i was bummed when he left detroit. But i really like backstrom he's a solid player.

I know it. People seem to forget that. Hossa has the ability to score in the playoffs, he's proved it before. last year he put up 26 points in 20 games. In '01-'02 he had 10 points in 12 games and in '02-'03 he had 16 points in 18 games. So he obviously has the ability to do it. I'm glad they are trying to resign him
-
true that, woulda never gone to 7 games, detroit woulda won game 3, remember malkin had 3 points in that game, obviously the game would be completely diff but still detroit woulda won.

Brad Stuart's a great defenseman. no way do the wings even try to get rid of him (especially cuz he has a NTC). Great year, with an unfortunate end
-
well i always wanted to see babcocks college buddies......

^ disagree ^agree i would not be able to watch crosby carry the cup, i don't have to worry tho cuz i know it's not gonna happen

i don't think the playoffs are gonna really effect holland's decision. he scored 40 goals in the regular season and was a great fit with dats. plus it gives the wings the chance to split datsyuk and zetterberg, or whatever combination they wanna throw out there. it just gives them options. it's gonna be tough making decisions this off season and i'm glad i'm not the one who has to do it

That's just dumb
-
haha true that
-
i'd have to agree there. Ozzie has been superb. tonight the wings just didn't score enough. detroit should be able to give ozzie two goals and be able to put 3 up. they just didn't do it.

look i'm all for siging hossa again but this is a bit of a stretch. the wings did just fine winning the cup without him last year. i think they woulda faired just fine without him again. that said i'm glad they had him, just sayin it was a stretch
-
We all find mike babcock and the rest of the wings organiztion pretty intelligent. obviously they feel its more helpful to have him in the line up than out of it, and i trust mike babcock haha
-
All i'm sayin is don't give up hope, sign him next year and maybe he'll tear it up while going for the 3 peat. I'd have to check but i don't think hossa has a very extensive playoff career.

regardless of the scenarios, people were still upset, but did we get rid of him? no, and what a great decision that turned out to be. Hossa = game winner friday night (hopefully lol)
