I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago. What a lovely man and such a class act. My heart goes out to his family, because, unfortunately, I know what they have gone through and will be going through with dementia - my father had Alzheimer's, and a more evil malady I cannot conceive of. It breaks the heart to watch a strong, vital person reduced to such levels. I've a feeling there won't be very many dry eyes in the house today.

I can't stop listening to this song...it's so good. Anyone who listens to The Spectrum channel on XM can also hear a live version of it.

I must admit, I got a hell of a laugh out of watching Pasha take Couture to school. Class dismissed indeed.

Is it my uderstanding that Iginla nixed the deal to Boston? If so, he's definitely not going to be welcome there any time soon. Needless to say, Boston fans are a little upset. And I can't say I blame them. I mean, you go to bed thinking you've got this deal done and when you wake up the next morning you find out you don't have it. Kinda sorta sucks, you know? But on the other hand, they kinda dodged a bullet, because they would have been getting probably nothing but a rental. So maybe there is a silver lining to this cloud. I'm just glad we didn't fall for this BS.

My bad on Lindsay. I meant Ullman, but sometimes the brain doesn't engage properly. Thank you for correcting me. As to seeing Pasha's number in the rafters, why not? He deserves it, especially if he stays another couple years (which God knows I'll be praying for).

I love that tweet! He's about ten points behind Ted Lindsay for number six on the all-time scoring list. I'd love to see him get that mark before too long!

After seeing those jerseys Vancouver wore tonight, it's no wonder they lost...if I had to wear something like that, I think I'd be embarassed to be seen on the ice. Whose attic did they dig those out of???

I'll tell you what, it sure was nice to see that wonderful smile on his face after the Edmonton game. I've been missing that smile lately.

I don't know why, maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but something deep inside tells me he's not quite ready to leave yet. I will probably be doing some heavy duty begging and groveling when I see him this fall, but I just don't think he's quite to the point yet where he's going to go away. Like I say, maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, who knows.

I went looking at stats last night and found out something I didn't know. He's got a better plus-minus than Stevie Y had for his whole career. Now I know that stat means about as much as anything I ever do or say (which ain't much), but it's still rather interesting. He's also now about 18 points behind Norm Ullman for 6th on the all-time scoring list.

I don't see how anyone would think he wouldn't make the Hall. Look at the body of his work and tell me he doesn't deserve it.

Hmm...my bad. Oh well, no worries, he'll be there soon. He's also close to taking over the number six spot on the all-time scoring list for the Wings, bumping Norm Ullman down. He's got a ways to go to get to #5 (Fedorov) but maybe some bribery might work! Oh, Bottle, thanks for the encouragement. I planned on doing it anyway. Tears might be involved, and that makes it even less of a pretty sight.

Actually if you add up his points in the NHL and the KHL, he does have 1,000. Can't remember where I saw it but they said that if you added both he was over the thousand point threshold. I plan on groveling in front of him at camp this fall, begging him to consider at least a couple more years here. It won't be pretty, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

I've heard there is a cure for that, but I'm not sure what it is. Oh well, I figure we all have our crosses to bear. If you can find your way through this little insanity, you're a braver soul than I.
