My jaw hit the floor, and I rewound the DVR a couple times to savor it. That was so good. He's creeping up on the All-Time scoring list...he's now about 22 points out of the number six position, just behind Norm Ullman. He'll have a ways to go to hit the top 5, but if he did decide to come back (Please do, Pasha; I don't want to grovel, but I will), a couple seasons of good point output might just do it.

To be honest with you, I think it has almost everything to do with that and the fact that St. Louis's Backes seems to have it out for our guys as well. The combination of the two I think just took its toll.

You know, all things in this life go in cycles. If we're in a down turn of the cycle, it's probably a natural thing. That being said, I still am happy that we are where we are. Considering everything we've been through, we do have some bright spots.

If we keep calling the kids up, who is gonna be left in GR when I go see them in March?

Takes a lot of chuptzah to do something like this to such a nice person. I hope the real Pasha cleans up the floor with this guy.

I think ( and I hope) that Jiri will use this for inspiration. I know that his dad was the one who went with him when he was a kid and went to all his games and practices and things. So hopefully that will be his inspiration for overcoming the sadness of it.

TLow, My heart goes out to you. I had a second cousin diagnosed with ALS, and luckily he was able to make it for quite a while before it finally got him. It isn't easy to live with. But you're right...live your life as best you can...savor the moments that you can do the things you love. ALS is a terrible fate...long, lingering diseases are a ***** (my parents both had long, lingering ailments). Good luck.

As someone who has lost both parents, I know how devastating this can be. And also as someone who is older than his father was, I can't even imagine how that must feel. My heart goes out to Jiri. I know he isn't here anymore, but I cannot help but be sad for him.

I don't know where she was, but I sure as hell didn't miss her. At least I didn't have to mute the anthem this time. Newman I can definitely do without.

I am tickled to see him back. He and Drew Miller are two of the best penalty killers out there. They are a good one-two punch.

Loved Bert's shootout goal. It was like he watched Pasha's goal from the other night and thought, monkey see, monkey do. Pretty good imitation. -
He's gonna have to start beating the boys off with hockey sticks when it comes to his daughter. She's going to be a beautiful young lady. No wonder he wants to be near her. As much as I hate the thought of him leaving here, I understand it.

I had to watch the second one three times to pick up the move he made. He's like a good musician, or a good actor on stage...you always leave 'em wanting more. And now, their loss is definitely our gain. Welcome home, Pasha!

A) If you're going out, make sure you go out in style. B) He learned the first rule of performance art: Always leave 'em wanting more!

I had to watch the second one three times to see just exactly what he did. That is just plain nasty.

Jealous, are we? Your team is not worth supporting? Jeez, people, if you listen to this crap, you're pretty gullible.
-
I will miss him. In the times that I ran into him at training camp, I never felt anything but comfortable being around him. You never felt like you were in the presence of a "celebrity" - more like a good friend and drinking compainon.

Yeah, people assume that we don't know beans about the game. It shocks people when they find out we know more than they do. And they hate it.

He's the definition of that old saying, "When they made you, they broke the mold." I don't think there will ever be another like him. Not for a long time, if ever.

What can be said besides this is what we have to look forward to...thank God. I just thought of something...tomorrow is Russian Orthodox Christmas - is this a present for us??? P.S. Thanks, Axe. I owe ya one!

I apologize for the lousy topic title, but I don't know how to edit it since they changed things in here. If anyone wants to change it and knows how, you're welcome to do so with my blessing.

I heard Bryzgalov left CSKA, but I don't know if it was because of hopefulness or they got a little tired of some of his antics, which I heard were not very welcome.
-
I hear that Drew Miller is getting ready to leave his team in Scotland, but that's all I've heard recently.

That's tempting fate...he definitely has a guardian angel. -
Very nice. And yes, Pasha is kicking ass. He's starting for the Western side in the KHL All-Star game coming up in January. He got a goal in yesterday's game.
