Pasha still has a few tricks up his sleeve. I would like to see him come back for at least two more go-rounds, but he has also said he doesn't want to play til he's 40. I guess it's just a matter of how much we can beg. Henrik, I don't know. He seems to be slowing down, as you have said. IF he is the new captain, will he be up to the challenge? Johan, such a wild card. Who knows?

I guess in the case of Malts vs. Hudler, it's a toss-up...do you go for stability and steady, or a flash in the pan. You could say that about a lot of guys. So it becomes a very subjective list.

a) It's a damned shame it couldn't have been here. b) It's a worse shame that we didn't get to see it personally.
-
Wow, this is tricky. 1) Pasha/Nick. I can't decide between the two. 2) Steve. What can you say - he was The Captain. 3) Henrik 4) Johan. Those hat tricks in the '08 run didn't hurt his status at all. 5) Ozzie. More than this, I'd be really hard pressed to rate them.

I will vouch for this one, but I gotta tell you, it's so much better to watch him live. He's worth at least two jaw drops and three "How the hell did he do that?"s per game. And if he can make my non-hockey fan husband drop his jaw and say, "If I didn't see that I would have never believed it", then you know he's got something goin' on.

Hard to watch without missing him...

He may be 40, but he sure doesn't look it. Oh well, age is just a number anyway.

Physically or mentally???? I question both.

Like I need another reason????

Datsyuk having fun in KHL while dominating, but misses Detroit.

I knew you were being sarcastic when you wrote this. It's dripping off the words like sap off a maple tree in spring. -

No kidding! You realize that if there is a next season, it could be the last one that we see Pasha? I can't even bear to think of it. -

If anyone gets MSG Network, they are showing a CSKA game this weekend. Luckily, I do, so it's cued up to record on my DVR. Squeee!! -

So you miss us?? Honey, it doesn't even come close to how much you are missed here. Trust me. -
I can see both alternatives...wanting to stay close to family, and yet expanding your horizons by going to a different place. I kinda envy Drew Miller playing in Scotland...I've always wanted to go there, it's a beautiful country, English speaking (if you can get past the brogue), great pubs, wonderful music, history up the ying yang...what more could you ask for?

Congrats!!! And welcome to the family!

Sacrifice the full season to guarantee Bettman's removal?
Kira replied to stevkrause's topic in General
If I thought it would get rid of that ****** bag once and for all, it might almost be worth it. But I want a guarantee, written in concrete, that he will never darken the doors of an NHL arena ever again, and that whoever succeeds him will have half a brain enough to know that lockouts are detrimental to everyone. -
The Wings have such a revered history. If you want some info, I can help you out a little...I've been a fan of the game for about 50 years (yes, I am that old). You're welcome to PM me and ask and I'll see if I can help. Google Darren McCarty and Claude Lemieux and see what happens. That is, as they say, a date that will live in infamy. Especially for Red Wings fans.

I met him once at Traverse City. A sweet and lovely soul. My life is a little better for having him a part of it.
-
Henrik says he should be fired?? Preach to the choir, pal...and would we that we could.
-
Well, that's using your head, I suppose. Leave it to dear Pasha to be creative. Too bad it didn't count. I'd give him a 10.0 for style alone.
-
I just was not impressed by him. Don't ask me why. I think it was because everyone thought he was the be-all and end-all, and I just got the feeling he was less than that. Just a personal thing, I guess.
-
I suppose you could say it's apples and oranges due to the time frame they both played in, but I have to vote for Pasha. Until he came along, I can honestly say I've never seen another player who could make my jaw hit the floor with frequency. He does it with alarming consistency. He's a sight to behold. I never felt that way watching Fedorov - he left me cold.
-
Hands down, Pavel. When he can even make my non-hockey fan husband sit up and say, "If I hadn't seen that I wouldn't believe it", then I know that something magic happened.

Detroit/Carolina '02. At that time, I had met a lady from NC and we were talking about it, with her saying her team would clean up with us, and I looked right at her and said, "Wings in 5. You watch." I liked being right. Detroit/Colordo '02. Especially games 6&7...I laughed my ass off when they tried the goal stick measure and it backfired, and Game 7 was an absolute hoot.

if you had to pick one player in the current roster.......
Kira replied to Motown4013's topic in General
Oh definitely Pasha...we have a lot of things in common outside of hockey. I would love to spend time with him talking about the pain of losing parents, being the second child (we seem to go through more hell), and life in general.
