I know it must have been something really serious for Pasha to request it, because I know he has a history of playing hurt. I still think it's better to have it done now.
-
No, unfortunately not. Would have been a nice neighbor in same day surgery, though!
-
He has surgery the same day I do. Misery loves company??? Get well soon, Pasha - we'll be missing you for sure!
-
It shows that you don't have to be a fighter to make your point...finesse works just fine.
-
In Pavel we trust. Nothing else need be said.

Sharks May overcome your streak. Otherwise it would be a great game.

Maybe when I have surgery Tuesday, I'll ask for a download of the radio feed of this game and listen to it while they work. Be a good distraction while I'm on the table. Yes, we know it will end someday. Who ends it we don't know. But it ain't today, and it ain't you. Now, as we said to Brian Burke all those years ago, "SHUT UP...LOSE...GO HOME" -
It's good to see his peers give him the credit he deserves. It doesn't mean, though, that the sportswriters and the other powers that be in charge of the awards will give him the same credit. But trust me, it's about damned time they do.

Good thing I wasn't there last night. I think I would have been in tears. Of pure joy. Pavel Datsyuk, you're my hero.
-
Damn, I haven't had surgery yet, so I can't blame this on post-surgery drug withdrawal from the meds...but am I seeing things, or have I been living in an alternate universe???
-
Gee, that's the first time I ever heard him say something sensible.

How to explain last night. Loud, rowdy, raucous, happy, partying atmosphere. From the very start with Homer getting a nice standing ovation, and going all the way to the end with cheers, hugs, high fives and tears...you cannot put it into words. You had to be there to know just what it meant. Ran into a fellow who was there last night, and we said we were too...told him where we sat (top of section 124), and he said, "Section 222." Anyone who was there last night will always remember where they sat...you may not for any other game in your life, but this one you will. I was thrilled to be there...I will never forget it. After the game, while we were waiting for the shuttle back to Hockeytown, some guy in a car along the river had his window open yelling, "Steve Ott sucks!" We loved it. What a total idiot - not five seconds out of the box, and he goes right back in. I was so wishing he'd get Kronwalled. If anyone ever deserved one, it's him.

I will be at the game on Tuesday night...we have friends coming in from Florida to watch it with us. To think we could be watching history...sends chills down my spine.
-
I'm afraid to watch it. I'll be in tears in seconds, I know.
-
I would talk to them and say you would like a little credit for the use of the pics. Not necessarily monetary credit, but at least a print credit Contact both the team and Fox Sports Detroit. Good luck, and congrats!

I know Pasha and Malkin are friends...in fact, one idolizes the other (I'll let you figure out which is which).
-
That had to have been fun. I can see Kid Rock out there playing in a celebrity game. He'd probably love it. I watched a few of the clips. There's one that Pasha is making comments on, and it's good to hear him.

Red Wings hope Winter Classic can persuade Nicklas Lidstrom to return
Kira replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
I think Pasha knows more than he lets people think he does. And you gotta admit, the idea of playing in front of 115,000 screaming fans (I hope I'm one of them!) is quite the temptation. -
I'm going to go ahead and throw caution to the wind and enter the lottery as soon as it's set up. Cross your fingers and wish me luck. Wonder if they'll put a limit on the number you can buy, say, four per winner...

We're screwed, my friend. I live three hours away, and even I know I don't stand a snowball's chance in Hell.
-
Well, that means all of us who live away from Detroit and can't even dream of season tickets are screwed.

The Grinders is a no-brainer. Ozzie, of course. Stevie and Shanny, if they can get a break from other activities, would be good. Fisch, Cheli, maybe Mathieu Dandenault (sorry, I like him), Joe Kocur, I'd love to see Igor Larionov. Who knows?

I can totally understand y'all wanting to get back at Pittsburgh. After we take care of San Jose, that would be a good one to get revenge on...he who shall not be named (who makes my dog growl profusely, by the way) deserves to be taken down a few pegs on the ego scale.
-
Oh definitely San Jose. For numerous reasons.

Vancouver Sun article on why no one hates the Wings
Kira replied to unsaddleddonald's topic in General
So, cprice, you hate Pasha because you lost him in scouting???? The only scout that ended up seeing him was ours, and he had gone there originally to look at Dmitri Kalinin. He found himself watching Pasha and was interested. The next time he went back there was some kind of mixup in flights or something so no one else ever scouted him. And that's one of the reasons why you hate him??? Cause you didn't get him? Oy vey.
