I was sitting in a bar in Wellston, Michigan, watching that game with my hubby and a bunch of fishermen who'd come in off the Manistee River. I looked at my other half, and said, "That goal changes everything. We're goin' all the way."

Even then, you could tell this kid had something...and now look at what he's done!

And to think there are only three guys left from that team...Nick, Pasha and Homer. How time flies. I remember that game 7 with Colorado...we were in Sault Ste. Marie at a DAV convention. We were laughing our asses off watching the game. The next morning I ran into the Madam Commander on the National level of the Auxiliary, who happened to be from North Carolina. I told her my Wings were going to beat her Hurricanes. "NO WAY! We're going to win!" "Wings in 5", I told her. "You watch." Damned if I wasn't right.

Wonder who gets Pasha and Howie?
-
I get that too, but it's my sanity that is questioned.

His attitude reminds me too much of Sean Avery. Thanks, but no thanks.

To call him amazing is like calling the Grand Canyon a hole in the ground. There are no words to adequately describe either one of those phenomenons.

Just read on TSN.ca that Columbus has finally fired their coach, Scott Arniel. I'm not surprised that it happened, but that it took them so long. So who's next??? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=384596

I'd like to think that Paul MacLean took a lot of what he learned here and applied it to the Sens.
-
I'm thinking Nick. I hope it isn't Pasha.

I can't say it enough...he's a miracle to behold. I can't wait to see him again come Valentine's Day!

I still say do UofM/MSU and a Red Wings/Maple Leafs double header at the Big House. I guarantee you will sell out in a heartbeat. My hubby even said we might have to do that one, and he's not that big of a hockey fan.
-
Gonna be funny not seeing Nick...but I can bet he'll love the time off to spend with family.
-
All I know is I had one very p.o.'d housemate last night. We're trying to watch tv, and all of a sudden I hear a loud, blue streak of words. Terry and I looked at each other and said, "What the hell?" I know not to question the source of the words.

You may be right on that. I've also heard that Calgary might be in the market.
-
And the thing is, he's not being arrogant when he says that...he means it. He's just so coherent of everything that is going on around him...so perceptive. It's one of the qualities he has that drives the competition absolutely nuts. You know that he is in the Top Ten all-time Wings scorers, and climbing the list every day...almost a point-per-game career average. He will most likely pass Ted Lindsay to make #7 on the list by the end of the season. I know a lot of players who'd kill for that. Hall of Fame - you bet. Hanging in the rafters - I'd not be surprised.

You obviously did not RTFI.

Chris Pronger. Yes, I hate him...yes, he is a douchecanoe of the worst type. He's also down for the rest of the season, and this is not the first time he's done this. He's had a good long run, but time is not on his side. Say goodbye, Chris.

I have to go along with DiPietro. That guy has had more bad luck than a bar has bottles of booze. Rick, for the sake of your body, give it up.
-
You know, that's the most diplomatic approach to take on this. Wise move.
-
Works for me.

What a treasure we have...not only is he wonderful to watch on the ice, he's just as wonderful off ice. Class personified.
-
I have to say Jim Howard, but there's a real close run for the top from Pasha (of course), Ian White and Flip, and I have to also include a tip of the hat to Drew Miller. He's been one of the unsung heroes.

If I ever meet up with Peter Laviolette, I think I'll buy him a beer. My housemate said he should have laid King Douchebag out.
