I didn't see the hit or the game (yet), but I honestly believe that Nik is not the type who is going to drop the gloves after a hit - or anytime. It's not in his nature to do that. And why should he have to fight to justify a legal hit anyway? I saw something a bit ago that says Vancouver is the most hated team in the NHL. After the complaining about last night, I think I can see why. Although I honestly thought it might be either s***sburgh or maybe Philly. Shows you what I know.

I'll second "What It Means to be a Red Wing"...it's beautiful. I sat on the floor in the bookstore and read Pasha's essay. It's very nice. I'll also give a thumbs up to the video package - I love it. Also, if you can find it, "48 Hours with the Red Wings" is a great book of photographs.

I was at the game last night and I was worried sick about him when I didn't see him in the third. I hope it's nothing serious. He did some pretty good damage in the first, but it drove me nuts not seeing him at the end.

Yes, we have become friends over the years. He's really a nice guy...and he could be captain material. Maybe his English isn't perfect, but sometimes the best captain leads by example instead of words, and I think he would do that very well.

If you're gonna do it, it should be at the Big House, and it should be a double header...Michigan/Michigan State, Red Wings/Maple Leafs. Of course, it won't be Toronto, because they have something against a Canadian team...why, I don't know. But they could do, say, Wings/Avalanche for old times' sake. That could be fun. But they definitely need to do UofM/ MSU. They do that, and that sucker would sell out in a New York minute.

Pasha is a lot smarter than he lets on...I think he tries to buffalo people into thinking he doesn't speak English all that well because he's really a very shy person. He's actually a very brainy fellow. Once you get to know him, you find out that he's a lot smarter than he shows to everyone. As far as him being captain, I see no reason why he couldn't be. Getting mad, I've seen his temper before...I remember a game in St. Louis where he got so mad he walked in the locker room and slammed his stick into the rack. There was an anger in his eyes I'd never seen before...he was really ticked. I think if the situation called for it, he could summon the anger forces and let loose. I wouldn't put it past him.

You know, I honestly thought that Columbus would fire their coach long before now. They are giving him a lot of rope before he hangs himself, that's for sure. Then again, considering what he's got to work with and where he is, maybe I should not be surprised that he hasn't been given his walking papers.

That poor kid must feel two inches tall right now. I applaud him for going over and apologizing to Patrick. My heart goes out to both of them, and I hope Pat has a speedy recovery. NO kisses from Reuben for you!

They made us work for what we got...and we gave them their goals on a silver platter. Still I'll gladly take the two points. And by the way, dear Pasha, in case I haven't told you lately, I worship the ice you skate on.

Is it just me, or does it look like one of our sleepers has awakened??? Yes, I'm referring to you, dear Pasha...me thinks someone has his mojo back. About time, too.

Thanks to my friend Dale, we now know when 2012 Training Camp will be held...the dates are September 22-24, with the Red and White game on September 25th. No idea yet when tickets will be available, but we will keep an eye out and when the date is released, it will be posted. At least this way, for those who are interested, they can plan their schedules accordingly. I know I will be there!

Don't dwell on this, Pasha...the more you let it get to you, the worse it will get. Yes, be concerned, but not to the point where it becomes an obsession. The more you let this eat away at you, the worse you will get. Work hard, keep pushing yourself, but don't let it take over your life. The more you dwell on mistakes, the more mistakes you make. I learned that the hard way, believe me.
