Happy birthday, you wonderful soul, you. Remember, 33 is just the number on Kris Draper's jersey. Walk with angels, mo cara...and always remember you are loved.
-
For all of us who voted for Ty Conklin, it's nice to be right.
-
I'll give him an A...considering what he had to work with, he was shrewd in his spending. I'm very glad he signed Drew and Patrick, and if we had to lose Ozzie, at least he brought back a known quantity in Ty Conklin. I'm pretty satisfied with what's been done.

Bless his heart. Just the most humble, unassuming person you could ever want to have on your team. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PASHA!!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember, 33 is just the number on Kris Draper's jersey. :beerbuddy:

Well, that didn't take long. Welcome back, Ty!
-
Oh no, he's still here. But you have to admit that when Nick and Homer are gone, we will truly be at the end of an era.
-
Nice thought. I hope it happens.

1. Everything goes in circles. It's called life. Eventually everything that is on the top goes around and spends time on the lower end. It's a natural occurrence - so it's bound to happen sometime. That doesn't mean we're gonna force the issue. 2. We're smarter than a lot of people give us credit for. And patient. I have no doubt that things will be fine. Yeah, we may hit a rough spot or two, but it's not anything that is going to be long lasting. I mean, good Lord, we're not the Islanders or Edmonton.

Well and truly spoken, my friend.
-
We might hear one at camp in Traverse City...you never know.
-
I'd let you borrow mine, but I don't think they'd let you. I've got a bunch of them I never used.
-
As we well know, prophets and artists are never appreciated in their own time.
-
I think the ending of an era will really kick in when two others retire...Nick and Homer. I'm not looking forward to that, I can tell you. I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone can think he won't hit the Hall. I mean, come on, three Cups, a Jennings, 400 wins, one of the few goalies to ever score himself, and if I remember right, a better save percentage than Brodeur, and he won't be in the Hall??? I don't know what that idiot Puck Daddy is smoking, but keep it the hell away from me.
-
That would be a left field call...I don't see it happening, but then again, stranger things have come to pass.
-
I wrote these words in another thread but they are just right for some reason Look to the stars Soak up the sun Walk with angels Thanks Chris...whatever happens, remember, prophets and artists are never appreciated in their own time.
-
I hope he's at camp in September. I'd love a chance to talk to him. Meantime...thanks, Chris. Look to the stars Soak up the sun Walk with angels

That sounded rather snarky. I prefer to think that it's because he is at his summer place and didn't want to take away from family time to make a big fuss. He's always been a quiet soul.
-
Gee, with that logic, I wish I could give you Bettman's job. You'd probably be better at it than he is.
-
Well, you know Ozzie...never one to be flashy or obvious. So how long after the word comes down do you think it will take for Ken Holland to have Ty Conklin under contract? I give it two hours at the most.
-
My dog could probably guard the net better than Turco. Ray Emery is just too much of a gamble. Better the devil we know than the one we don't...that's why I like the idea of Ty Conklin coming back. At least he's a proven commodity.
-
I just read that piece of tripe from Puck Daddy...he says Ozzie's career isn't "Hall worthy". Excuse me, but three Cups, a Jennings, and 400 career wins isn't "Hall worthy"???? What planet are you living on???
-
You echo my sentiments completely, my friend. I'd rather have a bag of used pucks than Marty Turco. Just the thought of that happening makes me shudder.
-
If this is retirement, then I wish him well. It was a hell of a run. From what I gather, he's up in British Columbia, so that might explain a conference call rather than a presser. And please, NOT Marty Turco. Bring back Ty Conklin.
-
I've no idea, but from what I heard he really took to them well, and they to him. I guess we'll never know. Some stupid wag online said, "Why is the media so obsessed on Datsyuk?" Why? Number one, I don't think they are "obsessed". Two, he's a breath of fresh air...no ego, no pretense. No mouth like some, and a s***load of talent to back it up. What's not to love?
-
Yes, esteef, it is. I always thought it kinda funny that a guy with his reputation would get involved with someone like Pasha, but apparently he was good with the kids and he fit in well. He'll be missed, I'm sure. I hope they figure out a way to get a birthday cake to Pasha for Wednesday...that would be really nice.
