I'm in the process of finishing up a great bio of The Beatles by Bob Spitz. I started reading it at the library the other day, killing time while the boss was trying to download some software off the Net, and got hooked on it.

I hate San Jose and I hate Heatley, but in a sick way he deserves a thank you note for taking out that douchebag. Can't have it both ways, though. Suspendable indeed.

The above is true...I have all the HD feeds available. It's nice having the alternative feeds for some games. I can't stand the Buffalo guys or the Pittsburgh announcers, so if I can find an alternative, I'll jump on it.

Hi, luvpucks...welcome to our little slice of heaven. I'm another one who believes in Center Ice and Direct TV. I've had it for over 10 years, and absolutely wouldn't be without it. A DVR is a definite must have. I couldn't live without mine. Definitely worth the investment.

We need to put Cleary, Huddie and Pasha back together. They were doing great together, developing some pretty potent chemistry.

And people wonder why I've loved this guy since he first got here...to call him amazing is kind of like calling the Grand Canyon a hole in the ground.

I'm in the middle of reading Joseph Wambaugh's "The Golden Orange". Kinda funny. Vladdy, I don't know where your interests lie, but if you like any kind of crime stories, I will recommend John Sandford's "Prey" series. They are a great read. The first one I read was "Eyes of Prey", and it had the creepiest bad guy. Give them a shot if that might interest you. Another good author is James Lee Burke. His books are set in southwest Louisiana, around Lafayette. As a visitor to that area, I find myself thinking that I visited some of the places he writes about, and it makes the books that much more interesting.

I'm just happy for Johan...here's hoping his son is healthy and happy. I'd love to see a picture of him holding the baby.

I have to admit, when I first read this I broke down and cried. I know that feeling of losing parents, as I've lost both of mine, but not at 16. That's a hard age to go through even under the best of conditions, but what he went through had to be just the lowest of low. He has a very brave and beautiful soul.

Most of the time it's classic rock, but there are two songs out right now that I really like a lot. One is John Mayer's "Half of my Heart", and the other is "Marry Me" by Train. Both are beautiful songs.

I thought it rather interesting that Kari Lehtonen (I apologize if I spelled that wrong) told Homer the other night that he got screwed by the refs and should have had that goal that was called back. And WE get all the breaks???

I can't believe you have turned this into a competition between these two amazing players. It's like comparing apples and oranges. You need to just appreciate them both for what they have and do, and leave it at that.

As much as I love the idea, I don't think they would give it to him. I think they have it set in concrete for Henrik. But I love the thought.

I would venture to say this is a pretty fair deal for Howie. A nice raise for him, and I'd say it's deserved.

I was watching the highlights of the game the other night on NHL Network, and the minute Jenrette's voice came on, my dog Loki started growling at the tv. Good dog!

Thank you so much. You know, it is things like this that make me think that hockey fans are the best. We may hate your team or a certain player (and mind you, I am thinking of an Eastern team, and you can imagine who, in particular), but when it comes to the big picture, we all have such compassion and caring hearts. We are all brothers and sisters of the hockey community, and when one of our own is hurting, others come to the forefront and show their kindness. I have met some of your fans in our travels and they have never been anything but kind and gracious. You may certainly pass our gratitude on to the rest of the Blues family. We will keep you posted as we know more.

I wonder if there might be something at the Red Wings' website? That would be a good place to have it. If not, you might want to contact someone at the team offices and ask. It sounds like they caught it in the early stages, and with an aggressive treatment program, there is a good prognosis. My thoughts go to his family and Shawn as well. Hang tough, honey. Give it that typical Red Wings fighting spirit!

I agree. This line of Cleary, Huddie and Pasha needs to stay together. They have developed some wicked good chemistry. You noticed they were broken up last night for a while, and Franzen was put there instead of Cleary. But that didn't last long, and they were back together at the end. If it ain't broke, you don't monkey with it. I know everyone says that whomever plays on the line with Pasha feels like they won the lottery. Well, I'd say this line is a winner for sure, and you don't mess it up if you want to keep a good thing going.

That guy makes my teeth hurt. I hit the mute button every time he's on.

Well, what do you expect after being off for three months? I'm sure he'll be working on faceoff techniques for a few days. As to the others, well, you must remember the first rule of musicians - PRACTICE!!!
