I think they're afraid to - they know we'll beat them down rationally and intellectually.

Bill Maher said it best. He couldn't lead a colony of ants to a melted Hershey bar. He's still persona non grata in my book for that stupid call on Pasha's Winter Classic goal. "Wind at his back", my ass. If Ottawa hires him for their GM, Sens fans may as well bend over and pass the Vaseline.

He doesn't think he did anything illegal? Pull the other one, fool. And remember this - hockey players have long memories.
-
Don't even get me started on this...I was being facetious, you know.
-
Oh no, he would have gotten a lifetime ban. Can't touch God, you know.
-
Well, Dom was one of a kind in a lot of ways.

I agree with you on this. It's better than what I was afraid they'd do, but not as long or as severe as I would have wanted. My friend Sheri says that the money he's losing should go to Stuie. Not a bad thought, but I know that won't happen. The Calgary people were pretty classy years ago with the Jiri Fischer incident, but they lost all credibility with me by their words and actions since.

I'm going to assume you are on some kind of medication and do not comprehend your words.

I think the West is tougher. If you look at the standings in the East, teams that would make the playoffs there wouldn't even stand a chance in the West. I think we have it tougher because of the travel as well. It does play havoc on the body, there's no mistake about it. Eastern Conference teams when they play each other, it's mostly a hop, skip and jump to wherever the game is, but out in the West, it isn't that easy. I'd be willing to bet that if we were in the East (oh please make it so), we'd be a very dominant team...more than we already are.

That's the first time I ever heard Mike Babcock bleeped in a post-game interview. And he had damned good reason to be cheesed - that was headhunting, plain and simple. My house mate has seen more of Kostopolis than I have and she says he's nothing but a douchebag. Repeat offender. Should get 5-10 but I'll bet you dollars to donuts he gets a slap on the wrist and nothing more.

I may have a copy of it somewhere in my archives, but don't hold your breath.

Ouch! But perfect answer. By the way, if he's looking for sympathy, I have a dictionary within arm's reach. Like that's anything uncommon?

Murph had it right last night when he said it was nothing but a popularity contest. Good thing Pasha has a legitimate reason for not showing up, though if I know Buttman, he'll find a reason to suspend him a game for not being there. What a joke. What a damned pathetic joke.

It's the game that Howie and Homer were playing. You have this little game table with all these little plastic ice cubes. The object is to tap out the little ice cubes without breaking the ice surface altogether. He who breaks it is the loser. Game's been around since I was a kid.

40 years ago today marked the dawn of the 'Dead Wings'

Oh, the "Darkness with Harkness". You thought Lions fans hated Matt Millen? Multiply that hate by about 10 and you'd have Ned Harkness. -
We'll have Boston/Buffalo on instead. Not because I'm interested, but my housemate is a diehard Boston fan, so out of deference to her, their game will be on. I look at it as a good excuse not to watch the fiasco. Either that, or I'll go down to the neighbors' and get in a good game of dominoes.
-
We'll be watching the Boston game.

I saw the new commercial this morning and laughed - it was great. I did have to explain to my housemate what "Don't Break the Ice" was. She had never heard of it before.

If I sat out in the rain and caught pneumonia, could I send the medical bills to Bettman? They are saying they will play the game no matter what the conditions. Is this wise?

Nick Lidstrom - I don't think you could say a bad thing about him. If you do, you are a fan of another team, and you're jealous as all hell. Tough s*** for you. Justin Abdelkader - I like this kid. He stood next to us at camp and talked to us a good 10-15 minutes before the media knew he was there. He does need to learn the fight bit a little more, but I give him brownie points for good intention. Dan Cleary - Blue collar. But he seems a little standoffish sometimes when it comes to signing autographs. Pavel Datsyuk - He is indescribable. No words can come close. What a joy to watch him, and even more to be around him. Patrick Eaves - We share the same birthday. And I love his dog, Reuben. Drew Miller - Hard working. Used to play for Anaheim, which could have turned me off. But he got better. Brad Stuart - One tough cookie. But he has to watch where and when he shoots the puck, so he doesn't take out teammates. Ruslan Salei - I know nothing much about the guy. But he is not Andreas Lilja in the shot blocking department. Jiri Hudler - When he's good he's very good, but when he's not he's awful. Brian Rafalski - Good but vulnerable to injury. Chris Osgood - Another one like Jiri. Kris Draper - Eternal, but showing his age. Jim Howard - The kid has talent, I'll give him that. But does he have the longevity? Henrik Zetterberg - Charismatic, maybe. Future captain? Jury is out on that. Darren Helm - Speedy little snot. Still has lots to learn. Todd Bertuzzi - Another one that is a blue collar sort. But do something about that front tooth, will ya? Valtteri Filppula - Another one like Jiri. He needs to be daring and shoot for the moon. Jonathan Ericsson - He's built but he really needs to learn how to use it. Niklas Kronwall - A tough cookie. Injury prone, but hopefully getting better at avoiding them. Mike Modano - If he comes back and contributes I'll be happy. If not, man, we'll have another Derian Hatcher on our hands. Johan Franzen - I like the guy, but he really needs to learn to avoid injuries. Tomas Holmstrom - Ah, Homer...what can we say? A warrior. He'll be hard to replace.

Karma can be a real nasty customer. Oh, I am loving the thought that it will all be for naught. That'll teach Buttman to fool with Mother Nature.
-
Oh dear God, I'll be laughing like hell if that's the case. :rotflmao: Maybe even Mother Nature has had enough of having Crosby/Ovechkin shoved down her throat and is on our side. LET IT POUR!!!!!!!!!!!

At least a jockstrap has a purpose. I can't say the same for Forsberg. You can sum it up in three words...PLEASE GO AWAY

Here's another one who will be laughing hysterically if it gets called. I'd do a rain dance if I knew how and it would work. It would serve them right.
