Bargain basement and I'd be willing to try it. Babs could whip him into shape and you can bet that Pasha would have a few choice words for him when he starts dragging ass and copping an attitude. Say $750K and I'm in.

I was there at 6:30 Saturday morning, but next year I'm going up earlier than that.

I loved being at the 6-0 drubbing of San Jose and the 6-1 beatdown of Dallas. I made it to four games this past season...never been to that many in a year before. I also loved being at the Phoenix game when we serenaded Wayne Gretzky with a rousing chorus of "Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" My favorite goal is hard to choose, but my two top picks would be the shootout goal by Pasha against Minnesota, and the one I saw him score live against San Jose where he showed incredible patience in waiting for just the right moment to shoot it. Absolutely awesome to watch. I can't wait til September!

He's really gonna have to go some to impress me. I will miss Ty. He's got big skates to step into as far as I'm concerned.

It's gonna be pretty slim pickings. I don't think you will find much left. Good luck. I got mine.

Thank God...I wonder though, what is Mrs. Goon gonna think of living in Philly?????

Number one, why in the hell would we want him??? Number two, if he did pay to play for us he'd be so far in hock, he'd never see the light of day. It'd be worse than paying a 30-year house mortgage. Thanks but no thanks. I think I'd rather shove bamboo slivers under my fingernails.

Considering all the injuries we endured, and the fact that I honestly believe the deck was stacked against us, we did a lot better than some gave us credit for (I remember reading some magazines, saying we were a "second tier team". Second tier my ass. 4th season in a row with 50 or more wins. How many consecutive seasons with an appearance in the playoffs? I think it's something like 19 Western Conference champs how many times? Central Division championships how many times? Like my hubby said, "We didn't get it all, but we still did better than 28 other teams."

They say there are lies, there are damned lies, and then there are statistics. You can make them say anything you want. I look at the intangibles as well as what they do out there on the ice. Given all that, I'd take Pasha in a minute. I think he has a more well-rounded game. I want someone who can play even strength, the power play and the penalty kill - all without being a detriment to the team. That is what I believe we have in Pasha. The others may score more goals, but I'll take the well rounded game any night of the week.

For the most part, I was okay with the way the awards went. I feel bad that Nick and Cheli didn't win, and that Pasha was pretty well shut out of the MVP voting. But I think his acceptance speeches were well done. He made a point to share the awards with his teammates, the organization, and even the fans and the city of Detroit. He was gracious and spoke clearly and very well. I loved that when they went to announce the Hart, someone in the audience yelled "Pavel!" Had I been there it probably would have been me yelling that. I'm proud of Pasha...well done, kiddo.

I will be there first thing to get tickets. Bet on it.

I wish we would have won, so that Nick could have snubbed Buttman. It would have been perfect after the All Star joke.

Were it not for this place, I would never have met the people who have come to mean the world to me...my online brothers and sisters. As a group, you treat me better than my own flesh and blood. My gratitude goes beyond words.

I had a feeling this was gonna happen, but I'm surprised they waited this long.

I wish I could have been there Saturday night, but even through the tv you could sense the energy when he got out there on the ice. The place went crazy. It was like the return of the prodigal son. You couldn't help but feed off the energy.

The first emotion I will have tonight when we win is joy. And then laughter when Marian skates around the Igloo with the Cup over his head. And then tears of joy when Pasha skates with it. I'm sad that Andreas and Kopi couldn't have played, but at least their names will be on it and they will get to skate with it tonight. Let's do it.

Sale date has not been announced yet. I'm going up the night before and camping out to guarantee I get my tickets.

Can't get CBC...so my closest thing to a protest is to hit the mute button on my tv, and play Kal and Woods on the radio. Thank God I can do that.

PS 2009 Stanley Cup Final Photoshop War: Pittsburgh Penguins
Kira replied to Matt's topic in Hall of Fame
There was one in today's online Detroit Free Press that was great. I can't find it again, but it had Kronwall laying out Gary Bettman and the caption was, "Gary Bettman...can you say KRONWALLED?"- 740 replies

If you really want to read a beautiful story on Pasha, Mitch Albom wrote an absolute gem...first time I read it I broke down and cried. Still get a lump in my throat when I read it. www.freep.com/article/20090416/COL01/904160395

Well, if the shoe fits...

Hey, it gave me a good laugh.

Is he one of a kind? I think so...but it's because he's got such a blend of talents on the ice, and such a personality and life off the ice. When you watch him on the ice, you never know what he's going to pull out of his bag of tricks. That unpredictability is a great thing. But it's also who he is off the ice...considerate, polite, gracious, funny...this is a guy who keeps stuffed animals in the back seat of his car to give to kids when they ask for autographs...who asked me if I would like him to autograph my Dynamo jersey. Who is unfailingly patient with the fans in TC waiting for autographs and pictures. Not an egotistical bone in his body...who still thinks every day of his parents, even though they are gone now, and never got to see him play in the NHL. Yes, he is a one of a kind.
