Yeah, I played all kinds of Pasha highlights on DVD and watched the NHL Awards again last night. He's so genuine and funny...he broke up the house at the awards.

Road trip??? I'm in!!!!!! Shaving cream? Maybe whipped cream instead - so much tastier if you happen to get a face full.

Dear Pasha, I know you might think turning 30 is old. It's not. I prefer to think of you as being like a fine wine, improving with age. I can tell you from experience that it's not so bad. Wait til you hit 50, then we'll talk. Cherish all the good things in this life, my friend...Cherish your family, your friends, laughter, joy and love. They don't last forever. Never forget, at least once a day, to tell the ones you love how you feel. To hear the words, "I love you" means a lot. Some of us rarely hear them. I hope your birthday is as wonderful and special as you are. Always know that the fans of Detroit appreciate you. Pat

I'll find that out for sure this year because I'm going to both the Gold Medal and the Red and White games at camp. I'll have a definitive answer then.

There are no extra letters on the jerseys at camp. Nick doesn't have a 'C' on his jersey at camp. I looked through my pictures I don't know how many times, and there is nothing like that on the camp jerseys. So where that pic came from, you've got me.

Hands down it has to be Dino.

They have a different style jersey for camp. It's more of a block style lettering for the names. They're not bad. The defense wears black jerseys during the workouts with no names on the back of them. That's why it's almost imperative to buy the program - that old adage, you can't tell the players without a scorecard rings true for some of the guys. Especially when it comes to autographs. At least if they put their number under their names, you can figure out who they are.

He meant when he was playing in Russia, dear. Sorry if I misled you.
-
He did wear #56 at training camp, but when he did make the team he switched to 13. In fact, Ken Daniels asked him last season why he wore that number, and it turns out that when he started playing in Russia he had number 7. Another player came to the team and wanted that number, so he gave it up and took 13.

You can cook for years and still screw up things. It took me years before I could make "s*** on a shingle" the way my other half likes it. For those who don't know what that is, it's creamed chipped beef on toast. So I'm watching the 6PM news tonight and they had a little blip on the Blue Angels, who are in Traverse City this weekend for the Cherry Festival. And guess who got to fly with them this year? Dallas Drake! Hopefully there will be some photos in the papers tomorrow.

It's like comparing apples and oranges...two different time frames, and two different people. But there is something about these guys named Pavel...

If they're looking for sympathy, I suggest a dictionary.

You know, this does bring up a delicious dilemma for Mike Babcock...where do you play Hossa - between Pasha and Homer, or with Henrik and Johan? What a dilemma...
-
Christ, you're kinda jumping the gun a bit, aren't you????
-
I wouldn't put it past Pasha, he was very close last season, and now with Hossa, I can see him hitting about 70-plus assists and 30-plus goals. Henrik and Marian could also do it. This could be fun...it's definitely gonna be a fun training camp!

If I had my way, Anaheim would be gone in a heartbeat. Send them to Wisconsin, or maybe even North Dakota. Better yet, send Anaheim to Wisconsin, and LA to North Dakota. Phoenix would go back to Winnepeg. Florida doesn't need two teams, so send one to Quebec and one to either the Maritimes or maybe Portland, Maine. Yes, I'm mean, but so what? Southern California and Florida do NOT seem like conducive places to play hockey. And Phoenix in summer is 115 degrees - I dare you to keep ice well enough to play and work out in summer.
-
No way. That head case is too much of a reclamation project for even us. I say let him go to LA...they're in worse shape than we are, they deserve each other.

I saw it in Toronto. You're right, it is a thing to behold.

Pictures, pictures! We want pictures! And lots of them! I have a friend who works at Garland Resort, and he told me it's coming up there sometime in August. I will be there for sure! And this time I'm gonna drink out of that puppy and kiss it right where Pasha's name is engraved!

Barry Melrose couldn't coach a colony of ants to a melted Hershey bar. My heart aches for Tampa Bay fans everywhere.

"Dumb luck" is when I manage to get a photograph to come out perfectly. "Dumb luck" is when I'm able to play a piece of music flawlessly even though I haven't tried to play it before. "Dumb luck" is NOT what the Red Wings have when it comes to scouting. There's a hell of a lot more to it than that.

Who knows where it might end up???? I wonder if they will bring it up to camp in September?
-
Love that man, no matter what he does...he's just so genuine and unique.

How wonderful to see Igor finally get his just rewards. I'm sure Pasha is smiling too, since Igor was his childhood hero and his mentor when he came to the Wings. I feel bad for Dino, who I always liked...because he was the forerunner for guys like Homer and Ryan Smyth. Those two took Dino's tricks of driving the goalies nuts and turned it into an art. Goalies might not think it, but I'm sure that Homer and Ryan both have a lot to thank Dino for.

Moves like that never get old. God love that man, he never ceases to amaze me. I remember watching that and sitting there thinking, "How in the hell did he do that?"
