Pasha is the best thing to happen to Red Wings hockey since Steve Yzerman.

When you get taken in one punch by Pavel Datsyuk, of all people, I'd say it's time to hang up the skates.
-
Ah my Pasha is showing his feisty side...I was glad to see him stand up for Henrik...he may have gotten a two minute penalty for it, but you can't deny it was worth it. And to see him take care of "Toughie" Roberts with one punch - priceless. There goes your Lady Byng, Pasha...like you give a s***. Maybe the ref didn't call him on it because they were amazed that he was the one who did it.

Let's face it, Henrik and Pasha have definitely given those two a lesson they won't forget. Note to Sid and Geno: You've been outclassed.

Aw come on, lighten up, and just have fun with it. I say Dallas Drake.

One play that caught my eye...I don't know who else noticed it. Four guys are in the corner mucking for the puck towards the end of the game. Here comes Pasha, skating up. He looks at the situation, watching like a hawk, then picks the moment, swoops in and knocks the puck back to a teammate and away down the ice they go. It just caught my attention the way he did it...it was kind of like a vulture stalking the prey.
-
Hear, hear...can you just imagine what he would have been like had his career been continued. Scary good.

I agree with you Manny. You cannot discount Pasha for all those intangibles he brings to the game. So he isn't on the score sheet every game, just look at all the things he does under the radar. Six hits last night to lead the team, how many takeaways and back checks, how many plays does he set up the score without getting an assist...it's all these things that don't show up on the score sheet that make his game so important to the cause. And if you doubt for a moment that he wants this, you have only to see the fire in those eyes, the passion he's playing with and the beating he's taking. I loved watching him put Sid the Kid in his place last night. Say what you will, but I cannot think that Pasha doesn't deserve some high consideration. In fact, I saw on one site that he was #1 in their watch list for Smythe consideration. Take it for what it's worth, but someone is definitely watching the same game you and I are.

The tone of the game was set when Fleury tripped over his skates coming out on the ice. I laughed my ass off. That should have told them it wasn't gonna be their night. Pasha was a demon out there - who would have thought he'd lead the team in hits so far? All in all, a great game, with secondary scoring that we've needed. Can't wait for #2. "Dear Sidney: Do not underestimate me. Signed, Pavel Datsyuk"
-
Do not, under any circumstances, put Pasha by the wayside...

Closest I could ever think of getting my dog to dress up is a Red Wings bandana.
-
I know Pasha has a good sense of humor...you just have to listen closely to appreciate it.
-
And yet, you can't really count out the intangibles...the stats that don't show up on the scoresheet at the end of the game. If you throw in those little things, you can't dismiss people like Kronner, Pasha and some of the others. This is going to be one of the hardest Conn Smythes to award. So many possibilities.

I like the diving Penguins. Like lemmings going off the cliff... The last Crosby one though is a little tasteless. Sorry, but it just leaves me cold.- 561 replies

How about Henrik and Pasha share it...that would be appropriate, don't you think?

What, no "March of the Penguins" reference yet? And don't look at me, I'm so not creative.- 561 replies

Thanks for the kind words, Modano. We're gonna do our best to keep the Cup in the West, you can count on that. I kinda figured it would go 6 with you guys, so thanks for making the prediction come true. Now we hope you'll jump on the bandwagon for just a little while and give us some moral support. See ya next season! Almost forgot - thank you for beating the s**t out of Anaheim, and giving me a hell of a good laugh.
-
I think you would be hard pressed to name someone on the Wings who has left more of his heart, soul and passion on that ice than Pasha. What a job he's done.
-
Now, how did I know that???? Great minds think alike???
-
Tell me you wouldn't have said the same thing...and I'll say you're lying.
-
Well, at least he knows when things are wrong. Homer did the same thing last night. You didn't need to be a lip reader to see when he let loose with one.
