Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong again. It's Pavel's.

I've loved this game for over 40 years. I grew up watching Howe and Lindsay, Beliveau and Richard, Hull and Mikita...and on into the 70's with Orr and Sanderson in Boston, the Broad Street Bullies, the Montreal steamroller teams. Into the 80's with Stevie Y just coming into the league, the Islanders and their four cups, Edmonton and their run...and into the 90's, and the emergence of my Wings from the depths of despair to the pinnacle of success. Now, I am in my 5th decade of being a hockey lover...my great niece is 10 and loves Pasha almost as much as I do. My nephews play the game. I love this game for the character it has. I love it for its unpredictability. I love it for the passion and the courage of the players. And I love it for its humanity. In all my life, I have never met more down to earth, kind, generous, sincere and warm athletes as the Wings players I've met. They are the most wonderful people...you never see an ego among these guys. They're not the flashy type, who think they have to drive the fancy cars and dress like God knows what. No, these guys drive the same cars we do, and are probably more comfortable in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt than anything. It's that human quality that I love most. It's Evgeni Malkin going to Pasha and asking if he can have one of Pasha's sticks. It's Patrick Kane asking Dominik Hasek if he can get a picture with him. And they do it without hesitation. You don't see that happen in other sports. You can have baseball, football, basketball, and all that other stuff. GIve me a hockey game any night. I'll watch it, I don't care who's playing.

Sorry for the double post - I didn't mean for that to happen. The fact that this is the first time both of them have gotten the nod, or even considered, is kind of surprising, after the things they have done over time. I'm just tickled to see them both getting some recognition for their work.

Now, see, if I had said something like this, I would have had my head handed to me on a platter. I'm glad you said it so I didn't. I've been wanting Pasha to get this nomination for the last two months, and I am thrilled that both he and Henrik have been nominated. I honestly believe it's gonna be Pasha's. No disrespect to Henrik, but Pasha played all 82 games this year, and his stats show that. Would it not be great to see him walk off with the Selke, the Byng, the Conn Smythe and the Cup??? Talk about the piece de resistance!

If you saw him in person you would change your mind. He's actually not bad looking in person.

Well, hey, if the shoe fits....

WUSSIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell good are ya?
-
I have an absolutely unimpeachable source that says yes, he will.

Hell, this smacks of an episode of "Mythbusters". Bettman, are you paying attention??? SAVE THE OCTOPUS - THROW BETTMAN

Someone called into the NHL Live show on NHLN today and mentioned it. Hradek and LaGreca kinda blew it off, however. Ticked me off big time the way they just passed over it, basically. Of course, they have an East Coast bias, so if it was something to do with one of their teams they'd care more. Because it's us they just sluff it off.

I went back and did a little digging. The last time a player won the Byng three times in a row was back in the 1930's. Pasha could do something no one has done in over 70 years. I don't care what anyone says, that is quite an honor if he does it. I say congrats to Pasha, and now let's see if he gets a Selke nomination, which he really deserves.

Thank you for the civility. Maybe some people don't appreciate it but I do. Stay healthy, but I'm not going to wish you luck to win. Can't go that far. GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
And to you as well! I probably won't get my wish for the sweep, but if they do it on the 3rd, that's close enough for me! Whatever it takes, GO WINGS!!!
-
It's for tv purposes. They're kissing Versus's asses. No other reason.
-
Don't feel bad...Game 4 is on my birthday. Maybe it will be a sweep and I can really have a chance to party!

I've passed it along in emails and phone calls to friends. I debated calling in to the NHL Live show on NHLN and asking them what they think of the idea. We need to pass it on to friends, fellow hockey fans, wherever you can share it. If you have a friend who is a fan of another team, pass it on to them as well, and if they need a reason why, just tell them it's tradition. Surely they would understand if they were true fans of the game. Just keep spreading the word any way you know how. Bettman needs to know that this is the worst lapse of reasoning he's committed in a long time. SAVE THE OCTOPUS!!!!!!!! THROW BETTMAN!!!!!!

My DVR says Washington-Philly on Versus, but if they say they're playing the Boston game, I'll be watching it. GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!
-
Keep the signatures comin' people!
-
Unless it's a lively flock of Red Wings!
-
Keep spreading the word and keep passing the petition on to fellow fans. The more people who sign it the better. Bettman does not get away with ruining tradition just because some spoil sport crybaby can't come up with a tradition of their own.

I don't care which one is on where, I'm watching Boston-Montreal. I want the Bruins to win.
-
NO, dear it doesn't make you bad. It was hilarious watching Anaheim get their collective egos handed to them. I am kinda hoping that San Jose wins Tuesday night and sets up a Sharks - Stars series so they can beat the living hell out of each other, while we systematically dismantle Colorado. This is getting better and better! Loo, consider the demise of Anaheim an early birthday present.

I can't wait to watch NHL Live today on NHLN. Hradek and LaGreca are going to be consuming major servings of humble pie. A little ice cream to help it go down better, boys????

Strange.
