How much did Pronger pay him for saying that little piece of BS?????
-
And here I thought the stupidest thing I've heard said all week came from The Shrub...this comes a very close second in stupidity.
-
Pasha has said that having the "A" on his jersey makes him very proud and he wants to prove every night that he is worthy of the honor. I think he's done that very well. Raining, I agree with you. I honestly don't see why he can't win the Selkie this year. I mean, look at the year Drapes won it. Surely Pasha's accomplishments are as good as, or even better than Kris's were.

Since I was a wee kid of 8. I have memories of sitting in the living room on a Saturday night with a bowl of hot buttered popcorn watching Hockey Night in Canada. I grew up watching Gordie Howe, Alex Delvechhio, Terrible Ted Lindsay and all the rest. And that, kids, was almost 45 years ago. I think I've got you all by a few years.

As someone who has followed Pasha since his rookie year, it's nice to see him finally getting some well-earned praise and recognition. I've had fun watching his game grow and evolve. He's so much fun to watch because you never know what little trick he's gonna pull out of his sleeve. Sneaky, smart, slicker than grease - this guy is the real deal. I'm amazed at how he manages to sneak up on a player and just take the puck from him like it's nothing. I've seen him up against three guys, and he still gets out of it and with the puck as well. He gets out of more sticky situations than MacGyver! I honestly believe that he should stand a great chance at winning the Selkie Trophy this year. I mean, come on, why not? Second in the League in plus-minus, top 10 in scoring, top 5 in assists, a takeaway number that is unreal compared to anyone else (last time I looked he had a 40 takeaway lead from the second place player)...what else does he have to do to get at least a nomination? We already know he's a shoe-in for the Lady Byng again - and when is the last time we had a three-peat for that award? Off the ice, I don't think I've ever met someone as kind, considerate and sweet as he is. What a gentleman, in every sense of the word. We have a team load of great players, but in my book, there isn't anyone like Pasha. I'm so damned glad he's ours for the next seven years.

Mine is in the repair shop. Like I'd even use it for him anyway.
-
Yes, he is and he's not ashamed to admit it. I laughed when he said that. I gotta love the guy - he's funny as hell, but he's got cojones to back up what he says.
-
If he's looking for sympathy, I suggest a dictionary. Look somewhere between s*** and syphillis, you ****** bag

:rotflmao: Serves you right, Phaneuf - that's what you get for going to Starbucks!

I don't question what we did. We did what we felt we could do without selling the farm. I'm more than willing to give Holland the benefit of the doubt. For one thing, he was working with Mike Babcock, Steve Yzerman, Jim Devellano, and I'm sure Scotty Bowman as well on this, and if they, collectively, didn't feel comfortable making a deal, then hey, they are the ones who are on top of the situation, not us. We just sit in our recliners at home and ***** and complain - we don't run the team. Second, if you put any credibility to anything that Barry Mullet spits out, you have a serious problem that needs attention.
-
I'll put this in one syllable words to make it easy to grasp. If the price is too dear you do not make the deal. The price for Hossa was too high, the deal was not made. If you had your way, we would have lost Flip, Kindl and draft picks for the next who knows how long. Too dear a price. Hossa is not worth it. Let the Pens have the headache. We will live - honest.
-
He did what he thought was right. I am not going to blame him for that in the least. Maybe he didn't think they would fit in under Mike Babcock's system...who are we to say? We don't run the team. Also, he was also working with Steve Yzerman, Mike Babcock, Jim Devallano and I'm sure Scotty Bowman as well. He didn't do this alone. They had input as well, and perhaps it was a group consensus not to go this way. Again, who are we to say? Forgive me for thinking logically and rationally ( I know that is in short supply here), but I'm willing to give the guy some slack.
-
This might get me in trouble, but here goes. I think you guys are wrong for wanting to get rid of Holland. I don't blame him in the least for being a very reluctant shopper. He didn't get into the Hossa dealing (aka Silly Season) for a couple of good reasons. Number one, the price was too high. They wanted Flip, perhaps someone like Jakub Kindl, and a couple of high draft choices. Wrong. Number two, Holland had to be a little leery of another rental deal like last season's trade deadline fiasco. I would be. Holland did what he thought he could do with what he had to work with. The fact that he didn't sell out the farm to get a high-priced, high maintenance player like Hossa should not be held against him, and those who think he should have done just that need to reconsider their words. If you want to question someone's thinking, I suggest Bob Gainey's in Montreal. Now that was a head scratcher. Now for the part that will probably catch me hell. First of all, "lynch" is a terrible word...it has very racial and evil connotations...did you ever hear of using your brains and a thesaurus to come up with a more intelligent word for your ridiculous theory of getting rid of Holland? Second...this is not the same league it used to be. You cannot go out and spend all types of money to get the team that you seem to think we need. You can't do that anymore. You have to use a little wisdom and discretion. Holland did that. He left us with a nice comfortable nest egg worth of cap space to use to sign the people we do need, like Cleary, Zetterberg, and yes, even Lilja. Get this through your heads - we don't need Marian Hossa, Mike Richards or any other high money, high ego showoff. It's the guys who are willing to go into the trenches and work their asses off that we need.

Yeah, but like I said, there is a double standard. Someone mentioned Pronger, and I think the same double standard is used on him as well. If one of our guys tried a hit like that he'd be gone for a week or more, you can bet on it. It's not exactly kosher, believe me. I keep hoping that karma comes back to bite both of those douchebags right in the cojones.
-
Does anyone know if there is a link online for the radio version of what's going on tomorrow?
-
I'd give up Sammy to have my dog Galen back again...
-
My question exactly...can we say double standard?????
-
I tried telling someone last night that Flip was untouchable, and they told me I was wrong. Sorry, sweetie (you know who you are), but I was right - I know you hate me for that, and I'm sorry, but honest, gang, we females do know some things about hockey.
-
I would not mind seeing Samuelsson traded. I can think of some people I wouldn't mind having. I could live (albeit painfully for a while) with Jiri getting traded, but that's it. Mikael is just not looking like he should, and that's not going to get it done in this town.
-
Serves that bastard right. Too bad he didn't get the hell beat out of him.
-
With his three assists tonight, Pavel hit 400 career points. I don't know who else that went in when he did has hit that mark, but I know guys that have played twice as long as he has and not even come close. It's quite an accomplishment for the length of time he's been here. So congrats to Pasha, and I expect to see him hit the 500 point mark next season!
-
Well, if we ever needed a test of how we react to adversity, this is surely it. Cheli will be in his glory - he's wanted more ice time, and he's certainly gonna get it. Here's hoping we can rise above the problems and come out of Calgary with a series sweep. GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!
-
He wasn't exactly on our Christmas card list when he was in St. Louis either. Remember that game when Kocur threw the chair? Man I thought everyone was gonna go at it that night! Quenville and his boys were gooning it up that time too...idiot. If you ran him out of Denver, I'm sure Wings fans would cheer.
-
Gee, does this mean my McCarty jersey might just be worth more than the $13 bucks I paid for it???? That it might just be wearable again??? Too cool!
-
Whatever blows your bagpipes, I guess. I like the name myself...and his teammates call him that as well, so if they do I don't see why we can't.
