gdt 4/18 ECQF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 @ Bruins 0. DET leads series 1-0

My housemate isn't talking to me (a die hard Bruins fan). And I have all I can do to keep the smirk off my face. Inwardly, I'm singing "Happy Happy Joy Joy", and outwardly keeping as straight a face as I can. What a beautiful goal my Pasha scored, and how wonderful that it was he who wielded the dagger for tonight. Thank ye, me darlin'...'tis grateful I am to you. -
I have to be so circumspect this time...my housemate is a die hard Boston fan. I really have to tread lightly until this is over. Of course, if we win, it will get worse, but I don't care. GO WINGS!!!!

That leaves such a creepy image in my head. Must find something to counteract the illness!

I love the fans in Winnepeg. They call him "Mario's pool boy". He's cornering the market on ****** baggery, that's for sure. Let's put it this way, if we do get them, it's open season - not one player is safe from slamming and Photoshopping the hell out of them. I've seen more diving from them than the loons on the lakes around here. But I love the loons.

I'm so tickled for Luke. I like his spirit and he's a great kid. Congrats on your first goal, and the future to boot, Luke! Couldn't happen to a nicer kid.

Mitch Callahan takes selfie after puck to the mouth (GRAPHIC)

I was at that game last night...It was brutal..blood was on the ice, teeth...poor kid. I could only assume the goal was called back for goaltender interference - they never did say why. Poor Mitch...looks like it's chicken soup for you for a bit, my friend... -
Is he related to that Colin Campbell??? If he's along the lines of Patrick Eaves or Luke Glendenning, I have no problem with that. I like both those guys for their attitudes and their grit.
-
Only one right now. Patrick Eaves in Nashville. Damn, I want him back here.
-
My first thought was Jiri Fischer, part deux. I can totally understand the players not having the heart to play and the coach not having the heart to coach (pardon the pun, it was their words, not mine). Let us hope the results are encouraging and Rich is able to return to the game.
-
I hope they know what a good penalty killer he is. But more than that, I hope they know what a treasure of a person he is. And they'll love Reuben too...he's such a cutie! Patrick, I miss you already...my birthday buddy.
-
I think they're going to be very patient and season him as much as possible before they bring him in.
-
That is pretty awesome. I like it.

My hubby has cardiomyopathy as well. I've had to learn a lot about this the last few years. I know what you're going through.
-
Sometimes it takes something like this to bring a problem to the surface. My husband had a stroke at 33 Scared the absolute hell out of both of us. But it showed something that we knew he had, but hadn't been properly diagnosed. They did an EEG (electroencephalogram), and it showed that he has temporal lobe epilepsy. We knew he had the problem but they told us that up until that time, they didn't really know how to read the EEGs to find it (this was the mid-80's, mind you). Since then, we know that science has vastly improved. By something like this happening now, it might just have saved his life. Hopefully with time to heal, proper medication and care, he can have a long life. May cut his career short, but in the long run that would probably be a small setback. Good luck, Kris - I hate your team with a purple passion, but I wish you well.

I can't decide. Drew has been reliable and steady (and available for every game), but Patrick has been a lifesaver at times. Both of them are a bonus on the PK, and Patrick has been very lucky in the last two shootouts. Don't make me choose!
-
Knees are so tricky...I have no doubt he will know when he's ready.
-
If you don't think he'd be out there if he could be playing, you don't give him very much credit. And if It's a knee, that is a very tricky game to play. Take your time, honey...we'll cheer like hell when you get back.
-
Well, I guess that means that barring any more injuries (fingers crossed), I'll see him next Wednesday night in GR. Cool!
-
I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner but with all the injuries I shouldn't be surprised. I guess that means I'll see him on the 5th when I go to the Griffins game.
-
Good Lord, the stuff of nightmares...
-
Cut us a little slack, please. After all the crap we've had to endure, we need a break.
-
For a moment, I honestly thought I was watching a remake of "Slap Shot".
-
Yeah, well, like I said, it's nice to be the benefactor for a change. We're long overdue for some breaks.
-
I must admit, that was one of the strangest goals I've seen in a long time. But it's nice that it went OUR way for a change. We're usually the victims of something that bizarre. Rather nice to be the benefactor for a change.
