never said Salei is a better option as the 6th dman than Carkner, but Carkner has glaring deficiencies that have to be taken into consideration. its not a slam dunk improvement if we get Carkner for Salei like you make it out to be bingo. Fisher does not fit our style or system. Fisher is a north-south dump and chase guy. he'll be useful maybe on our 3rd or 4th lines, but no thanks at that cap hit.

Chris Neil is signed for $2m. There is no way that contract fits the wings structure. Carkner pretty much is a pylon.

Gonchar's deal is a 35+ deal. i don't see anyone wanting to get close to that since there's 2 years left. i don't see a contender taking Kovalev. Pittsburgh and montreal don't have the cap space unless they trade dollar for dollar, but the sens are looking for draft picks and shedding salary. no way. Fisher has little offensive creativity, and is supposedly playing really hurt. he's not been physical at all this season. his defensive game has slipped off dramatically as a result.
