people keep forgetting he had a great series against SJ. he stole games 1 and 3 for Chicago, with two 44 save performances.
-
if Kovalchuk wins his case for his contract against the NHL, i wont be surprised if the Kings give Doughty a 25 year contract
-
Hank looks really handsome.
-
they are all happy and believe that 1) they have the best top 6 forwards in the league 2) the rookies who will fill out their bottom six will mostly be calder candidates 3) having either jose theodore or turco as their goalie will be fine since their goalies won't be called upon to make many saves anyway 4) there won't be injuries during the season

a trade with Tallon. keep up the trading with 'friends'
-
Apparently this was the 2nd time Beach fought Olimb during Chicago prospect camp, and Olimb is now out for 4 months. what a Dumbass
-
These bits made my eyes pop out Link to article not sure what is more mind bogging, Edmonton offering the Boogeyman $7 million over 4 years, or that the Boogeyman is going to train with Pasha in Russia this offseason.
-
don't you know the Blackhawk fans who watch Skille and Dowell in Rockford are telling us they will be calder candidates? ha!
-
So how much do you guys think Niemi will get at arbitration? I'm reading opinions from Chicago fans and it just blew my mind that they think he should be awarded the same amount that Josh Harding just got from Minnesota.
-
this isn't good news for fans. Lockout possibility increases.
-
i wonder if Bowman will be singing the same tune if a higher end prospect was injured instead of Olimb, in this manner. then again, bowman is mr "We don't need to make any more trades" and "Offer sheets don't concern me".
-
Paging Dudley in Atlanta. Seriously, if Dudley helps them again...
-
Modano has admitted the "Detroit or retirement" comment was too strongly worded by himself.
-
not sure how reliable this site is, but here are some numbers chicago apparently offered Hjarlmasson link to source
-
i dont have the source with me, other than reading that on message boards. It was an idea that Bowman apparently talked about on Chicago radio, with regards to what he will do with Huet Of course, with his "we don't need to make any more trades" and "offer sheets don't concern me" statements proving to be the worst smokescreens in a while, this could be another smokescreen. I'm of the opinion that whatever the hawks do, they won't be having Huet against the cap once the season starts, whether it be loaning him to a European league, or burying his ass in the AHL. I know they can't get rid of his cap hit until the season starts, and that hurts them since they don't have flexibility in bringing in free agents. whether they send him to Europe or the AHL, his hit comes off only when the season starts
-
Hjalmarsson offer sheet hard to match LOL at Bowman.
-
I doubt the sharks have the space, if they get Hjalmarsson.
-
From what I've read, it seems and Huet and the hawks are working out a deal to have him play in Europe. That way, his salary wont count against the cap. they will still have to pay him though (unless the European team is willing to pay part of the salary)
-
Modano line combos this is a cool site that lists the various line combinations a player played in looking at it, it seems he spent quite a bit of time in the bottom 6
-
i think they can use Halak's contract as a comparable contract, since Halak signed his as a restricted free agent
-
that also means Niemi can't point to Huet's contract and says he deserves more than him
-
Cap wise it could work according to capgeek AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Jiri Hudler ($2.875m) / Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) Todd Bertuzzi ($1.938m) / Tomas Holmstrom ($1.875m) / Kris Draper ($1.583m) * Mike Modano ($1.000m) / * Justin Abdelkader ($0.850m) / * Darren Helm ($0.599m) Mattias Ritola ($0.517m) / * Patrick Eaves ($0.500m) DEFENSEMEN Nicklas Lidstrom ($6.200m) / Brian Rafalski ($6.000m) Brad Stuart ($3.750m) / Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) Jonathan Ericsson ($0.900m) / Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) * Derek Meech ($0.483m) GOALTENDERS Chris Osgood ($1.417m) / Jimmy Howard ($0.717m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (these totals are compiled using the bonus cushion) ROSTER: 23; CAP: $59.4m; CARRY-OVER PENALTY: $0.050m PAYROLL: $57.674m; BONUSES: $0.000m; CAP ROOM: $1.726m this assumes the RFAs have the same cap hit and Modano gets $1 million. and we'll be getting rid of one of the forwards so that will free up a bit of space

Nine teams face 2010-11 cap penalties
-
