i am surprised they didn't pick refs from other countries, just to avoid any accusation of biased officiating. this may work against Canada because the refs may not call a penalty on the US... or maybe they won't call anything lol -
i'd feel really bad for them if they don't get the bronze. they beat Russia and Sweden and came so close to tying Canada. They deserve the bronze for that.

I have been saying all along that they are the most complete team playing in the olympics. they have a lot of good 2 way forwards making the need for role players unnecessary. i can't believe what i read about what some of the Team canada fans had to say after the loss to the US (need more role players, too many players with big egos etc), it was just nonsense.

can you imagine the outcry if Stevie Y left out Pronger and Niedermayer? lol hindsight is always 20/20, but there was no way he could have left off some guys that have not showed up thus far.

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. its pretty much a crap shot on whether the team gels.

role players are overrated. the 2006 team had role players like Draper, Doan and Smyth and failed miserably. for Stevie Y, it was all going to be a crapshoot. how the hell would anyone know what will be able to mesh with who?
