I have the ESPN Scorecenter app, so I should be alright. I'll check it about every 5-10 minutes Thanks for the offer though.

Suck Harder My Brother

Well, I have an iPhone but last time I tried...the only streaming video that would work was Youtube or Quicktime videos. EDIT: Yeah, I just checked and I need Flash, which I can't get on my iPhone.

At work, where I don't have a computer? As for the defensive pairings...I really hope Lebda/Rafalski is not out there a lot.
-
I find it kind of ironic that our first line is our worst line. (Sorry Datsyuk!)

Could the injuries cause Detroit to miss the playoffs?
skyphoenix replied to Phazon's topic in General
I agree with Abelkader and Miller being hard working, excellent additions to the team but with our depth the way it is when everyone is healthy, there is no need for them up here. Abdelkader needs to continue to develop at the AHL level and he will probably have a spot on our roster next season. Miller was signed just so we had another solid option with our Penalty Killing while all the injuries were piling up. Helm, Draper, and Eaves will be an excellent fourth line. -

Bertuzzi is not getting the job done, but Leino is. Just look at Zetterberg's point increase the minute Leino was put on his line. And besides that, you can't just throw away 3 players that have one-way contracts. Franzen - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Leino - Zetterberg - Cleary Bertuzzi - Filppula - Williams Draper - Helm - Eaves (With Maltby and May rotating) Abdelkader was never meant to be on the team this year, so once everyone is healthy he will be back in Grand Rapids. Miller was signed to give us extra depth while we have the injuries, once everyone is back he, too, will be in Grand Rapids. You telling people to learn hockey, when you don't know too much is pretty funny. We can't have 15 forwards on our active roster, so I don't know what you were thinking with your lines. -
This ******* sucks. I'm not going to get to watch the game because the bowling alley I work at has DirecTV. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on ESPN Scorecenter on my phone.

Yeah, Hawks fans would never talk about the Wings. Oh wait: http://fans.blackhawks.nhl.com/topic/27116...-it-happen.html http://fans.blackhawks.nhl.com/topic/26802...attendance.html Somehow calling Detroit "Detoilet" is supposed to be clever, I think.

Not a big deal but the Defense pairings are Lidstrom - Ericsson Lebda - Rafalski Meech - Stuart Nashville is on a big win-streak right now and they are 9-2 in their last 11 games. Hopefully the Wings come out with a couple early goals to command the game and don't let up.
-
I think Babcock got a look at having to pair up Meech and Lebda and said "f*** that s***." Per MLive:
-
Yeah I'm sure teams are going around talking about how much of a ***** team we are. I can see Joel Quennville whispering to Ken Hitchcock about how they are going to body check us into submission because we are a bunch of ******* who can't score if we get hit.

This weekend was absolute garbage. Wow.

I can't count on my hands the amount of times I have yelled at the TV this season because Bertuzzi either doesn't take the shot when he should or like in the last game where he took the puck over the blue line and instead of dropping it for a defensman or passing it to another forward, he skates across to the left side by himself while he's covered by 2 guys and loses the puck.
-
I think the Wings are plenty tough. They get run around a lot and our "soft" euros get knocked around but they still manage to be excellent puck handlers and elite forwards. I don't think we need to get any tougher. Our injuries were flukes and not one of them was a result of us being "weak".

Detroit's reaction to the Habs jerseys tonight
skyphoenix replied to zetterthancrosby's topic in General
Alternate jerseys are cool every once in awhile but the Habs really over-do it. They have had way too many different jerseys. I wouldn't mind the Wings having a third jersey when they play the original six teams or something the one time a year they play each one Like this jersey: Other than that, I'm glad the Wings keep it simple and don't try to do anything with their jerseys. -
I thought I was the only one that had this view of Leino. It's not really his fault that he isn't built like a truck and gets knocked all over the place. When you go to the dirty areas and play along the boards to get puck control all the time, you will get muscled around and while people think he is being lazy (which is just a joke to me), he has been very beneficial to Zetterberg and Cleary on that line and I guarantee Zetterberg would not be on the point streak he was on without Leino (even Zetterberg has said to credit his linemates for his success so far). Zetterberg is amazing on his own, but Leino and Cleary are both very good compliments to his skills because they play the boards and have very good puck control and can dish it to Zetterberg at almost any given moment. With that said, Leino does need to start shooting more because it would be nice to see him notch a few goals. We all have seen that he has a scoring touch and brilliant hands but I think trying to play the 2-Way hockey that Babcock wants has taken precedence over trying to score right now and everything should balance out after awhile.

It's funny, Laraque didn't even apologize or anything. Not like I'm really looking for an apology but he doesn't even acknowledge that he just injured somebody for a month because of what he did. He just claims it was an accident, like he hasn't been playing hockey for more than a week and knows what those kinds of hits do.
-
So more than likely he will be out for 3-4 weeks, possibly 4-6 weeks (or longer).
-
I don't mind Ericsson getting more minutes on the top 2 defensive lines because he has proven in the playoffs last year that he can be an excellent defenseman and worked quite well with Lidstrom but Meech and Lebda have no upside as far as I'm concerned and having them together would be a huge liability. I do personally feel that Babcock would give the line promotion to Ericsson before either Meech or Lebda.
-
I don't see how our defense is going to look anything but disastrous now. Kronwall was probably our second best defenseman right behind Lidstrom. Stuart is good, but now that the defense is going to have to be shaken up, I wonder if Lebda/Meech will happen. I hope with all that is holy in the world, this is not the case.
-
Offensively, yes he is doing very well. Defensively, he has been disappointing me, but he can't really make up for playing with the worst defenseman in the NHL. For an average NHL rookie, Ericsson is doing well. For being Jonathan Ericsson, it is slightly disappointing from what we got to see in the playoffs last season.
-
Well, Montreal is downright awful right now (Price made 53 saves against Nashville a week or so ago and they still lost [and yes I know he isn't playing]) so we will lose this one 1-0 in Overtime.
-
If you do the math, Bertuzzi has 9 points and is still a -5 which means he has been out there for 14 goals against, right? I don't see any upside at all from having him on the top line.
-
Eaves and Leino. I like Leino's puck control a lot and he's playing the perfect role on Zetterberg's line. I definitely love Helm as well, you can't deny he has a lot of strength and speed. Ericsson has been pretty disappointing to me, but he isn't learning much from his partner. Also, I forgot to say that although the Miller acquisition didn't make sense to me at first, I think he is a really great addition to the team. He has been pretty good on the PK.
