Love this signing. Replaces Cleary (hopefully) and is much much better. -
I don't see us signing Weiss if he wants that much. If we don't get another center, we'll likely not be able to play Z and Dats together often and our centers would be Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Helm, and Andersson...if Helm can play.

What's everyone's problem with Alfredsson? Besides his injuries, he can still put up points. He's playing more games than Samuelsson is at this point too.

I'll be furious if we sign Ribeiro. He can play but my God, he has no sportsmanship whatsoever. It's also been mentioned that we were kicking the tires on Alfredsson and Bozak. And I see it's already been mentioned...

Well when the Flyers move Pronger to LTIR, they'll free up around $4mil in cap space taking into account how much over they are now. It's not a lot but they'll figure it out. They won't have any goaltending but then again they never have. -
A lot of people would say Quincey's $3.75mil a season is a gross overpayment but when we re-signed him there really wasn't much for Defensemen on the market and we were hurting in that area. Like someone said earlier, supply and demand plays into it a lot. Next year, players might not be getting as much money because the market is flooded with talent.

It's moreso people being pissed that he expects 7yrs at $5.5mil when he doesn't produce anywhere near what that contract would suggest. I love Filppula, always have, but good riddance. -
I would expect Brunner to be asking for 4-5 years or something and we're wanting 2-3 and they're probably even on pricing for this deal not to be done yet. That or Brunner wants to see what other teams think he's worth right now and go back to Holland and see what he does.

And according to her, it looks like Cleary will be around 3 years $9mil (What the f***???) and Brunner will be around $2.5mil a year with no length specified.

Leino wasn't producing in his first full season here and we couldn't afford to keep him, so traded him to Philly where he got to the stanley cup finals and broke a club record and now he's making bank for doing nothing in Buffalo. I don't think he's crying about it.

Possibly. Every year he heard how it was his year to step up and realize his full potential and how he hasn't hit his ceiling. I think Fil is a great forward and would love to keep him on this team but what he's reportedly asking for is insaaaaaane in every sense of the word. -
