People wear Crosby jerseys to be cool. Because he is the face of the NHL according to Bettman and NBC. Its the same reason you see people wearing LeBron James jerseys in California or Tom Brady jerseys in Florida. A lot of them have no business wearing it but they do it because they think he is gods gift to the NHL and hes the only player they know.

Yeah, it is an amazing turnaround because honestly if they stayed with Therrien...I doubt the Penguins would have made the playoffs. But that just proves my point. You cant have Staal, Crosby, Malkin, and Fleury carry the team because you had those core players and you were in 9th place. You need the right role players to compliment them or else its not going to work. Approaching cap problems is where your GM comes into play and if he makes the right moves then the Pens probably could contend for another few years but if he makes mistakes, it could cost the team dearly.

87to71 seems to forget that about halfway through the season the Penguins were in 9th in the East and behind the Florida Panthers. Its not like they were good all year. They had to fire their coach and get a few role players to compliment Malkin and Crosby in order to make it to the playoffs. I dont see them making a great run to the finals next year.

I think Filppula is highly underrated because for the most part he doesnt score a lot. When he was centering that line with Hossa, they clicked so well he really came out and scored more/assisted more. I think extending his stay here last year was a great decision.

I think the bottom line is Hossa isnt the reason we lost. One player is not the reason you lose and one player is not the reason you win. This is a team sport and there were a number of players not playing well this series. I dont think Hossa had a lack of trying whatsoever, he was all over the puck tonight and a few of the previous games (aside from game 6) and you cannot fault him because the puck doesnt go in the net. I think its fairly obvious if he does sign here, it will be for significantly less but I dont think that it bothers him. We should have the same shot at the cup we had this year depending on what other teams do to their rosters.

Well did anyone notice that Stuart took that dumb penalty early in the game (when I really thought we were going to go down) then he turned over the puck to give up the first goal and then he made a bad pinch against the boards and left Kronwall back to fend for himself on the 2-on-1 for the 2nd goal. If we have anything to place blame on, I would say it was Brad Stuarts bad decisions tonight but there are a lot of factors that played into the Wings losing. We had 17 giveaways before the 3rd period. You cannot expect to win like that.

He had four goals that were in clutch situations. Everyone is allowed to have a drought in goals...it happens. Hossa is a top-tier forward and if you think otherwise, you obviously didnt watch him throughout the regular season or even tonight. He was making some great plays and sometimes it just doest happen for you. I dont think he should be shipped off because he had a bad finish to an otherwise excellent year. By the way, his nickname is The Slovakian Sniper. I didnt make it up.

I really think we should keep Hossa if he wants to stay. He is a presence in his own right and adds to the team really well. I think he fits in here perfectly because of his puck handling. Though he didnt put up many points at the end there, I dont think a player has to score to be effective. He was very effective in punk handling and possession as well as distribution. To me, he is one of my favorite players after this season.

Win this for the sport of hockey. Win it for the sheer fact that the state of Pennsylvania doesnt need another damn championship. (I mean the Phillies won the world series and the Steelers won the Super Bowl...so Stanley is ours)

Thats actually a great comparison. I dont see how this sign is anything close to funny, its just classless. Thats not me being too sensitive, thats me being a realist. I dont think the people who are struggling to feed their families find it to be funny or cute.
