It's not the playoffs until someone's ******** ruptures.

Winning 2-of-3 sounds much more realistic though ... so let's hope they take care of business. Hopefully San Jose gets a little overconfident and loses some focus on the cross-country trip, so Detroit can pounce tomorrow. Anything less than a 2-0 homestand here and you can forget it. Let's also not forget that Detroit was down 2-1 last series without home ice and survived. Just find a way to win Tuesday and they're back in the EXACT same spot.

I would be fine with it. The refs owe Detroit at least one.

Eaves needs to get healthy because the 3rd and 4th lines have to generate that energy and speed ... they were OK in game 2, but not spectacular. Williams is beyond worthless at this point. I also kind of wish Maltby was able to take Draper's place in the lineup. Anyway ... I think the Dats/Z split is fine for now, and it allows Babs to come back with them in 4-on-4 or PP situations, as well as unleash them at the end of games. Loading up on one line would only work if one/both of those guys was double-shifting all game

This is what bothers me the most. It's getting harder and harder to determine who the best team is because the refs are playing such a gigantic role in these games.

If they're not, this series is over. -

There's no doubt in my mind that Detroit can win in San Jose. I wish I was as confident that Detroit would win all 3 at home. -
Sorry, still too angry to get hyped for Tuesday.

WCSF Game 2 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Sharks 4

Did it give the Wings a power play? No. A 5-on-3? No. Did it drastically swing the momentum? No. It made a 5-on-4 into a 4-on-4 with an 11-second power play. It was a bad call, sure, but it was far from equal to the earlier bad calls. -

But you can't just take these all out of context, one at a time. Kronwall's not in position to take that penalty without the BS Bertuzzi penalty that completed shifted the course of that game. Detroit started the 3rd strong and then that crap call changed the momentum, the Kronwall penalty led to a tie and the rest is history. You're telling me there was NO time that a Wing was interfered with, held or roughed in all that time? Come on. You can blame the refs when the refs are horrendous. Could've been angry over their 4th penalty when Detroit had 9? No. -

So it was 5-on-5 when the Sharks scored the game-tying goal? It was 5-on-5 for the first 6 minutes of the third period? The refs won this game. As soon as this BS stops, the series will turn. -

In the 2nd period, the Wings scored the only goal. They outshot the Sharks, 12-11, and had a lot of pressure. They drove the net, cycled the puck well and had a lot of offensive zone pressure. There were two penalties in that period. Both were against Detroit. -

Again, I don't see why you would ignore the officiating here. +10 in shots with SEVEN more power plays is a pretty low number, no? -

Right ... my point is that anyone who watched the first two games and thinks SJ is vastly superior to Detroit is not seeing anything but the current series lead SJ has. If anything, the fact that SJ has only won by a goal twice makes me think Detroit is a better team. -

How can you make this statement? I mean, seriously? The Wings scored on 2 of 3 powerplays and killed off eight of 10 power plays. They led 3-2 after 20 minutes, created some good chances, rolled over every line pretty effectively and were in position to win TWICE at the No. 1 seed despite getting ass-reamed by Bettman's cronies. Detroit is the better team. If the refs ever let them show that, they'll win this series. -

I love the guys who come out preaching ... like you can just completely ignore officiating in a game. The refs turned this game, plain and simple. 3-2 Detroit, playing well ... and then shorthanded for 6 straight minutes, including a 5-on-3. The game gets tied and that's it. -

Sorry, but you're wrong. The Sharks outplayed them in the first 5 minutes and after it got to 3-3. That's it. The rest of it was that the Wings were constantly in the box. The officials decided this one. -
WHAT THE f*** WAS THAT QUESTION?!?! OH MY LORD In case anyone's not watching NBC or turned it off ... Pierre gets a postgame with PK Subban and asks him ... "I saw you looking over at Sidney Crosby on the Penguins bench. Were you just saying 'Wow, I can't believe I'm playing against him?'"
-
Suspension? Five and a game means the league has to look, right?
-
And the obligatory Pittsburgh cheap shot. I hate these assholes.
-
Nice shift, Sid. Four turnovers and a goal against. Cammelleri!!!!!!
-
Moore gets tackled on a break. No call. This is absurd.
-
Refs have decided to give Pittsburgh this game. I am shocked.

It's unsportsmanlike conduct against any other player, especially considering that he almost hit Halak.
