Boner death for 99% of LGW.

Savard is one of my favorite players who doesn't wear a winged wheel, and I would love to see him here but I just don't see it happening. Kinda funny because before I saw this thread I read the Cheechoo one above it. People hate on Cheechoo for needing a skilled playmaker like big Joe but if we were to somehow get both Savard and Cheechoo for a hit of ~ 4.5 mil we could potentially (if the planets all allign and the moon is full) have another 56 goal season from Cheechoo and Savard's impressive numbers on top of that. That is, if Cheechoo is bought out. Not that I think this is even possible but it's pretty interesting if you really think about it... Maybe something Burke should consider trying. What's the worst that could happen? Miss the playoffs?

It would be foolish not to sign him if he were willing to play for league minimum. Cheechoo hasn't been so great lately but all joking aside, he has lots of potential. Does not matter if he played on a line with 'X,' or was surrounded by 'Y' and 'Z' in his glory years in San Jose. We're the Detroit Red Wings and we've been home to the best 'Y's' and 'Z's' to ever play the game. If an environment like ours (yes, ours - not Ottawa's) could spark that potential for dirt cheap it would be the steal of the season. Not only that but his broke-ass, joke-ass would owe us for saving his career and he'd likely re-sign for a very grateful, very reasonable cap hit. We lack rightys anyway i say give him a crack at NHL hockey on a real team.

On another note WTF is this retarded crap I'm watching right now?

So happy to see Pav win it again.

There are so many players in this year's draft I'd like us to pick up... wonder what Holland would be willing to part with to pick sooner. Who or what do you guys think we could use to trade up? Any prospects we could afford to lose if it means snagging Skinner, Etem, McIlrath, etc? Would it even be worth it if it only means moving up 3 or so spots? Everyone has a boner for Mcilrath but recent mock drafts have him damn near top 10. If by some miracle we were able to trade up that high without giving up too much, there are far better players we could select. The most appealing thing about Mcilrath was the sleeper factor but according to these new mock drafts he just doesn't seem worth it anymore. I like the idea of a beast D-man like Mcilrath or Tinordi but only if we don't have to give much for them, and by that I mean one mediocre prospect and Meech at most. If we were to give up more I'd rather go for a natural scorer because who knows when the next time we get to pick this high will be.

Exactly how I feel about him. Way too 'spensive but if by some miracle he decided to take a massive pay cut to play for us... sure. I'd love to have someone as talented as Spezza on our team you're lying to yourself if you say you wouldn't.

Some of these mock drafts dont have Skinner going in the first round at all... I'm thinking Etem, Skinner, or Kabanov would be sweet if we're looking for a forward.

Holy hell people he was injured all season... He is a beast when he is healthy and next season he will prove it to you, because he is LOYAL and he works his ass off. All I ever hear on this board is how we need more grit, and we need scorers who can fight, and Dan Cleary is one of those guys. He is the best fighter on our team, no contest, and he can hit like a locomotive when he wants to. Potential to score 20-30 goals per year, the skills to play on ANY line in ANY situation, and the ability to whoop the f*** out of BRAD MAY - the worthless turd who we brought in to start a bunch of boring staged fights which he mostly LOST. So many people want Carcillo, yet Cleary could manhandle him, is a better scorer, great on the PK, and won't take nearly as many stupid penalties. Oh and he also grows a mean beard while Carcillo can't even grow Crosby fuzz... Cleary is the man and I can't believe the Bertuzzi thread was derailed by this nonsense only to see another thread about it today.

Rick Jeanneret. I want Buffalo to win the cup soon just so I can hear his reaction. He is flat out awesome.

Call me crazy but I have this weird feeling that Kabanov is worth a shot. It's high risk, but the reward would be great. If Mcilrath is picked before us I wouldn't hate this one bit.

He'll be back.

Does anyone think the Eastern conference can win the Cup?
BUHdactyl replied to Vladifan's topic in General
I hope they can. I'd really hate to see Chicago or San Jose win the cup. -
Damn JVR is nasty... Flyers look good.

Ever since the Boogaard/Datsyuk thing I've secretly hoped he'd be on our team. Not too worried about who we pick up as long as they can score a few goals and beat some ass when we need them to.

Great news!

I can't believe people still try to bash on Bertuzzi. If anyone deserves to be bashed it's Kronwall for being such a turd this time around. Cleary was great last night but do you honestly think it'd be in the team's best interest to break up the second line when Cleary did so well on the first? Who would you replace Cleary with on the first line? As much as I love the guy Homer isn't cutting it right now and he's not doing too bad on his new line. The only logical move if a change MUST happen would be to swap Cleary with Bertuzzi since Bert had good chemistry with Datsyuk earlier in the season. Other than that keep it how it is, we'll be just fine.

Worst part is how he rates Nabokov over Howard... Howard has less experience, but from what I've seen Nabokov can't cut it in big games. Olympic failure, playoff joke, he even let Boyle score a goal on him. Howard is still unproven, but If anything the edge in goaltending goes to Howard because the only thing Nabokov's experience has proved is that he sucks ass in the playoffs.

Enough already with this Armstrong/Clarkson nonsense.

Seems rather unwise to start something when you're outnumbered, but it happens all the time. I was at game 2 of the quarterfinals last year and I've never seen so much disrespect from opposing fans. First, while waiting in the longest line ever to take a leak, a CBJ fan started a fight with a Wings fan. Pushing, shoving, you know how it goes... the jackets fan was bigger than the wings fan, too. Finally they went at it and the Blue Jackets fan got LAID OUT ... i mean on the ground just totally down and out. All of the surrounding wings fans started chanting "RED WINGS! RED WINGS! RED WINGS!" Second, I had upper bowl seats, and some younger CBJ fans were holding these massive, obnoxious signs and they were completely obstructing the view of any fans 2-3 rows behind them. They were clearly asked to keep the signs out of the way but kept fighting with everyone, including some elderly fans. Real tough guys, let me tell you. Tension was building and everyone on our end of the Joe was looking over at them, with their blue afro wigs as they taunted old people and threw things, pushing people, throwing their arms up and being assholes. Finally security came and forced them to leave after what seemed like way too long, and as they were leaving throwing a huge fit, one of them threw their wig at another fan. Some hilarious dude grabbed it mid flight and with it in his hand did a hyper jacking off motion with it. I've never laughed so hard in my life... They all got told, and on top of that Osgood shut them out. Was a great experience but seriously I'll never understand letting it get to that point. I am a huge fan - i never miss a game, i go to as many games as i can afford, and I never stop talking about hockey, but I would never act like a dick in an arena. No sense in ruining other people's experience over a whole bunch of nothing.

Great hit but too bad it was on Ellis. I always liked him.
