What a nice set up! Way to finish Abby!
-
I like seeing Hudlemotion.
-
I freaking love Pavel.
-
Daniel reminded me of Samuelsson on that shot.
-
I heart Helmer.
-
Obvious observation of the day: Datsyuk needs the puck more. Ugh... Bert.
-
There hasn't been much of the "looking bads" going around. This team is so much fun to watch.
-
Z-D-Flip look great together.
-
They don't look bad, just off. It looks like Abby sparked them.
-
Z looks off so far. I'm sure he'll get it back. Stupid long breaks
-
Most GDT in HF have links to streams too, if you're interested in watching other teams. I can't believe how incompetent the NHL is at growing fan bases...

I get FSN-Ohio... They can't complete a single pass. It's difficult to watch. Not to mention that Nash doesn't know what to do with decent linemates, he looks like a puck hog. Outside of Nash, Carter, and Prospal, they have absolutely no scoring depth. Their defense is chockablock full of guys who love to pinch, which is encouraged by Arniel's run and gun strategy. That means there is plenty of room for other team's offense with a defensman playing out of position. Usually that could be covered by defensive minded forwards, but their guys like Sammy Pahlsson are slowing up and can't get back in time. Then there is Mason and his easily breakable ego. For them to have any sort of decent year, they need about two more stay at home defensman, Umberger, Brassard, or Vermette to start producing and hope that Huselius can produce when he gets back. Then, Mason needs to play like he hasn't in two years. TL;DR: They're screwed. Edited to fix ellipsis.

"Eight tied at 1" sounds very nice. This is a fun team to watch so far. Go Wings!
-
Quite possibly the first time I've ever agreed with Jeremy Roenick. I saw on ESPN's bottom line yesterday on the NHL's "Crosby" section that there was nothing new to report. The hell is it even there for, then?
-
Slightly OT, but wow! I completely remember watching that game! It seems so long ago. I wonder what Shanahan suspensions would have looked like during all of that rivalry? Claude and McCarty each with 20+?
-
Even guys that are not known for their speed are moving their legs. The team as a whole looks very driven.

I didn't realize how thin Colorado was at forward this year. They kind of look like Anaheim without the first line. Keep the momentum going! Go Wings!

It is impressive, but a lot of this has to do with taking the human element out of decision making. If you ask someone a given question, you could get a different answer depending on when you ask. I suppose this is where mob mentality works well. Even if you assume that, say, Cam Ward is not a top 5 goalie in the league, what exactly is the difference between him and the guy who is #5? Maybe 1/1000th of a second that might allow in 2 goals a year? In this case, the weighted mob mentality is clearly better than asking one guy one time. That isn't to say that EA's projections are to be undermined. Their track record is impressive. However, it isn't hard to see that Chicago was the best team in the league in 2010 or that Vancouver was going to win the West last year. And really, there was no more complete a team in the East than Boston. The last two years haven't been exactly difficult to preview, especially when you evaluate a team based on the caliber of each individual player as opposed to a sum total of the inputs. In that regard, it's hard not to be a fan of Nashville.

I won't argue that, when healthy, Crosby is more than capable of putting up 1 and a third points per game- he is probably the most offensively talented player in the game. But after sitting out for almost a whole year (using their games played prediction) there is absolutely no way anyone can be at full speed immediately. A ppg pace is believable, anything higher than that is ridiculous.

...Wat.

10/2 Exhibition GDT: Pittsburgh Penguins at Red Wings

I'm ridiculously impressed with Nyquist. The guy is just making the correct play every time. This is the definition of being on your game. -
9/30 Exhibition GDT: Toronto Maple Leafs at Red Wings

I understand all the Komisarek hatred in Toronto after tonight. -
Oh, don't worry, I didn't.

Nights like these are the reason I love sports. I have no real vested interest in either of these teams, but 3 consecutive hits off Papelbon in the bottom of the 9th with two outs to score the tying and winning runs? Longoria hitting a home run in the bottom of the twelfth for the clinch? You can't help but be excited!

That looks very very nice.
