Wings Playoff/Cup chances?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Mabuhay Red Wings's topic in General
We're too old, and we're nowhere near consistent enough right now to make a real Cup run. Shake up needed in the summer? Bet your ass. -
What happened to political music? Its too much of a rarity for my liking.

Do Maple Leaf fans deserve better?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I haven't seen Voros out there for the Leafs yet. Is he still with the Marlies? -
I'd be interested to watch the next Jackets/Oilers game. Even if Hall did clearly go after Dorsett , Edmonton will want Dorsett's head.

10 games seems fair. Maybe Michael Haley will play in his spot until he comes back?

Tests Confirm Probert had chronic traumatic encephalopathy
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to mstegman's topic in General
If you don't like to get hit and knocked around, play golf, or soccer. Simple as that. Nobody is holding a gun to these player's heads forcing them to play. These players know the risks of a contact sport like this. It's the risk you take when you lace up the skates. Sure, the crackdown on blindside hits to the head is a good thing, granted they don't take it overboard and fine/suspend someone every time a player gets hurt on a hit (clean or not). I approve this message. -
Call me blind, but I don't see an elbow to the head. I see he got his arms up and clearly delivered a solid punch to the jaw, but I fail to see where some people are coming up with an elbow to the head. Nonetheless, he'll get another few games. Definitely deserves punishment. The hit by Buttercup seemed clean, I think the fact that the hit was on one of the Isles youngsters, Gillies reacted the way he did. Can't imagine it will be that severe of a suspension. Not to mention he plays for Pittsburgh.

3/2 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2 (OT)
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I'd imagine so. He's been solid defensively for the Ducks this year. They essentially replaced Max Lapierre with Brad Winchester, and for good measure, added Brian McGrattan as an extra forward! -

Better keep our heads up. Anaheim has one of the scrappiest lineups in the league. -

Nope. The Islanders decided to keep him around. He will be a free agent this summer, however As much as I'd love to see McGrattan get some ice time in Anaheim, his chances are small. He will play in Syracuse (Anaheim's AHL affiliate) to start out. Hopefully he gets called up! -

To be honest, I hope McGrattan gets some playing time in Anaheim. -
The person below me game...
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in Water Cooler
He should keep goin' for gold. Persistence pays! The person below me is shocked at how many hours they work this week, in a good way. -
As long as he continues to put up points and plays at least some defense, i'm fine. Big question is whether he will show up come playoff time. Franzen needs to get his head out of his ass and crash the net, for crying out loud. It will be interesting who will sit in the press box come playoff time.

Boyes could be a great pickup for them. Maybe he fits well with them. Not sure who his potential linemates are. -

Los Angeles would be silly to deal Wayne Simmonds. He's among the names being tossed around. -
To be honest, Phillips would look out of place in any jersey other than a Sens one. He's a Sen for life.

Ott definitely had it coming. Where's Abdelkader been? Supposedly he was supposed to be the "scrappiest" guy on the team...?
-
His playoff beard does.

2/24 GDT: Stars 4 at Red Wings 1
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
There's no drive at all. They're playing like "ohh, we'll take some games off. They don't matter anyway. We're already a lock for the playoffs. We're getting guys back soon anyway." Reminds me sort of the 2002 team that took the last quarter of the regular season off. Luckily, they woke up in the playoffs after a red-hot Vancouver team took the first 2 at home in the Western Quarter Finals.
