Shawn Thornton will not be returning to the Bruins

Thornton isn't what we need. There are several younger guys who can skate a regular shift that can be brought here. That said, I hope Thornton finds a spot with another team.

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Backstrom Giroux-Brodziak-Gaborik Miller-Helm-Neil Weise-MacKenzie-McGrattan Kronwall-Dekeyser Ericsson-Giordano Greene-Engelland This seems to be working well for me in my Dynasty Mode. Ken should give it a try.

What do you guys think about Chris Stewart? There is speculation that Buffalo is looking to deal him this summer. 26 years old. Played sub-par with the Blues (26 points in 58 games) and was dealt to Buffalo, where he had 0 points in 5 games. He's shown that he's capable of being a top 6 forward in the past. He'd also provide some physicality that we're lacking in the top 6.

I'd rather see Jason Woolley on the third pairing than Quincey.

Report: NHL to have 5 outdoor games in 2014-15.

Aaaaaand I don't care about outdoor games anymore.

I'd like to physically punch him in the face, partly because I know he doesn't have an enforcer to keep me honest.

Justin Williams is so clutch. Todd Bertuzzi's prestigious negotiating rights to LA for Williams, straight up. Yes, I'm drunk.

    FTFY.

2014 SCF : (2) The Big Apple vs. (3) Hollywood

I know, which is why I said he's not a constant offensive threat. He's just not a liability. Carcillo should be sitting the full 10, regardless.

2014 SCF : (2) The Big Apple vs. (3) Hollywood

I wouldn't say Carcillo has been a liability. He's scored 2 goals (including one in OT against Philly) in 8 playoff games this postseason. Not saying he's an offensive threat every time he's on the ice, but he's not a liability. I suspect he will be back in the lineup for the Rangers in the finals.

    Shero & Bylsma Fired

He's the least biased of the broadcast crew, imo. What led you to the conclusion that Pierre is biased?

    Redwings great R/H D men.............?

What's Mike Commodore up to these days?

    Just because he's awkward?

2014 SCF : (2) The Big Apple vs. (3) Hollywood

I can't believe Carcillo's suspension actually got reduced. Looked like pretty blatant abuse of a referee to me.

    Shero & Bylsma Fired

He may be annoying and awkward as part of the broadcast team, but Pierre has a great hockey mind. Very knowledgeable about the game.

Agreed. Murray has looked bad this year. Also read that Alberts may retire due to nasty concussion symptoms he sustained earlier this year on a hit by Brian McGrattan. Didn't Ken say we're looking for a bottom pairing defenseman?

2014 SCF : (2) The Big Apple vs. (3) Hollywood

I'm happy that I'll be able to sit back and just enjoy this series, considering Chicago, Pittsburgh, Boston, and San Jose are not playing. Bettman almost looked like a human in 1994.

I thought LA was done for after they lost game 6, honestly. Awesome win tonight.

Now that I think about it, Pittsburgh will likely re-sign Engelland due to some other names likely departing (Niskanen, Orpik?). Kevan Miller may have taken Adam McQuaid's spot on Boston's blueline. Wouldn't mind seeing us pick him up. Other UFA defenseman that would give us some snarl on the blueline include: Matt Greene Willie Mitchell Clayton Stoner Mark Fraser Cory Sarich Douglas Murray Andrew Alberts Sheldon Brookbank Stoner probably stays in Minnesota. Murray interests me, but he's become so slow. Brookbank can play forward and defense, but he was a scratch for Chicago most of the year. Sarich and Mitchell would be okay, but they're both aging. I want Greene or Fraser, or McQuaid via trade. I hope Orpik stays far away.

Are there any indications that Washington is looking to move him?

Is Gazdic even a free agent? We're looking for a defenseman. Engelland is just what we're looking for.

I can't imagine Mike McKee being a Wing for any long period of time. Sucks to say it. I want Deryk Engelland on this team. Any news on whether Pittsburgh is looking to keep him around?

Is the broadcast tandem Strader and Engblom again tonight?
