Tom Kostopoulos has always been one of those guys that tries to fight...but he just really shouldn't. I've never seen the guy last 20 seconds in a scrap without hitting the ice. He is just all around laughable.

Commodore requests trade out of Columbus
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to edicius's topic in General
Hopefully he can get in and stay in a lineup somewhere. He's a solid stay-at-home defenseman, but like previously mentioned, his skating is a problem. -
As long as Hudler is visible on the ice, and the team continues to win, I see no point.

Thrasher's Eager suspended 4 games

February 7th: Thrashers@Maple Leafs -
Absolutely. Hard to believe he was let go by Ottawa and Carolina. Great 2 way player.
-
Best believe Howard is gonna get into one or two before his time is up!
-
The suspension seems fair. Sucks Stuart will be out for a while. Kostopoulos is a joke. Too bad that was our last regular season game against Calgary, Big E would kill him.

Haha sideshow..you're something else, man.

We've gone over this before Dorsett is gonna be a hell of a well-rounded player. Zenon Konopka, Jared Boll, Shawn Thornton,Chris Thorburn, Jason Chimera, Brad Winchester, Gregory Campbell, David Clarkson, Travis Moen, I mean the list goes on and on of guys that can do it all. Although he has calmed down since his days in Phoenix, Dan Carcillo is still a pain in the ass to play against. He's gonna be a free agent in the summer As far as defensemen go, I was surprised today when I was browsing TFP to see Detroit listed as one of the possible destinations for Steve Staios, which raises some questions about our defense pairings. TFP is usually pretty reliable, next to Eklund of course

Commodore requests trade out of Columbus
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to edicius's topic in General
Wouldn't surprise me. Columbus is just another one of those markets that players aren't interested in playing in. Probably some management/coaching problems that have caused Foote and now Commodore to head for the exit. -
I can't find any retro Probert or Kocur jerseys anywhere. I wouldn't mind a D-Mac one either. Anyone know if they're still available anywhere?

Actually I was thinkng more along the lines of another useless pansee like Hudler, who loses puck battles in the corners, refuses to shoot the puck, doesn't finish his checks, doesn't drive to the net, and constantly gets knocked on his ass. He has been beyond a disappointment so far this year, but hey, he doesn't hit OR fight, so he must be more useful than one of those enforcurz. They're mean. Fighting is yucky and rude, and don't even get me started on finishing your checks.

Detroit interested in Jamie Langenbrunner

Where did you see that? -
Plenty of these guys were naming off were available over the offseason.

Brandon Prust has 15 points coming into tonight. He's scored 3 short-handed goals. so he can play the penalty kill, he'll fight anyone, and he'll chip in on offense. Who the hell would get rid of some small, soft player that has been playing under-par all year for someone like that?!?!? Chris Thorburn has 14 points playing on Atlanta's 4th line with Ben Eager and Eric Boulton..put him with Eaves and Helm or Miller and see the points pile up.. As mentioned in posts before, Zenon Konopka can play a regular shift, fight anyone, and put up a few points as well.

Hopefully we learned something from our game against the Isles: Don't underestimate anyone. These guys are gonna give it their all, and we can't give them an inch. LGW -
Mathieu Dandenault was my first guess!

Tough Guy: Memoir of Bob Probert

Nice! I look forward to adding this one to my collection of hockey novels. Have you read "Razor's Edge"? Rob Ray had the same idea as Probert and published it a few years back. It's a decent read. -
Anaheim is a shell of what they used to be. Their defense is a fraction of what it was when they won they won the Cup in 2007. They had the perfect blend of scoring, grit, veteran leadership, and defense in 2007. They're far from that form now.

I successfully boycotted the Winter Classic.

Tough Guy: Memoir of Bob Probert
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to CdnWingsFanEh's topic in General
Because, like many Wings fans and hockey fans in general, I looked up to him growing up. He was one of my hockey idols, and I learned to respect him even more after he finally got his act together. Sure, he had his issues, but it was his perserverance that makes me, and many others respect him. He recognized he had problems, and he worked at it. Sure, it took him a while, but he eventually cleaned himself up. It is unfortunate his life was so short, but he will always be remembered. -
I wonder if the fans fought over the stick..
