True. I still think the trapezoid is bogus. Bigger nets are beyond bogus, but i don't have a problem with the smaller goalie equipment. Take a look at the goalies from the '80s, i don't have a problem heading back in that direction, although goalie equipment will never be that small again.

That's true. That's not the first time someone has said hockey would become more popular in the states with the removal of fighting, though. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It's always been a part of the game, it always will be a part of the game. Most non-hockey fans i talk to say its too boring, that there's not enough scoring. So, maybe if every game was 10-9 then it would become more popular, which is what the league has been getting at since the lockout, with the implementation of rules that prohibit clutching and grabbing, thus creating more offense.

Yeah it does happen. I've seen a few incidents of where sticks get caught up in a guy's visor, obviously putting the guy's eyes at danger, so it has its pros and cons.

Personally, I wouldn't wear a visor. I've tried playing with one on before, and the vision deal bothered me. I can understand where people want to protect themselves, but there are instances where visors cause injuries, although rather uncommon. I believe players should have the choice on whether to wear one or not. More and more young players are wearing them. I'd say probably half of the players in the league wear one and half don't. The only thing that really drives me insane are players that run around and start fights and they hide under the visor. I'd be shocked if Getzlaf came back not wearing one.

Flyers enforcer Jody Shelley has been suspended for 2 games for his hit from behind on Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid. Seems like a fair suspension, judging it was on an icing call..The hit was exactly what the league is trying to get rid of.
