Andrew Peters has no kind words for Travis Moen
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Looking forward to it. I have a feeling Peters will find himself in Florida's lineup October 30th. The Panthers aren't gonna get pushed around this year. Granted, Peters likely will send some time in Rochester of the AHL, but Mike Duco and Kenndal McArdle will get some playing time as well. -
Good move by the Islanders by picking up Mike Mottau. Maybe he'll lessen the blow of the Streit loss.

That's what I was thinking. He jumped in to protect his teammate after he was hit by Moen, and it didn't end too well for him. Peters made some comments. I'm interested to hear if Moen has anything to say. Nothing wrong with a little bad blood! -

Ericsson looks plain lost out there. He's in the hotseat. No doubt about it. But guys..no need to worry..don't panic! We've got Janik! I'm thinking he's gonna get some games under his belt with the way Ericsson is playing.

Wings release Aaron Downey

If I remember correctly, Bertuzzi proceeded to pound Orpik after the hit. That's what we need more of. If Bertuzzi could deter some of the cheap s*** other teams are gonna do, that would be great. Someone's gotta do it. Its gonna have to take Zetterberg's head getting knocked off by Matt Cooke to make Detroit realize "hey, maybe some beef would prevent that". Seriously. I'm not saying we need a team stacked with Belaks and Boogaards, but we need the balance of skill and grit. We don't have that right now, in my opinion. The way its looking, our enforcer is gonna be Jimmy Howard. Nobody ever clears the crease(cough, Ericsson and Rafalski), so he'll have to do it. Your team isn't going deep into the playoffs unless you have a balanced combination of skill, grit, and veteran experience. Bottom line. -

Fair enough. Maybe Kenny can pluck someone out of those who are still free agents at the beginning of the season like he did last year. -
Is Mike Modano This Year's Dallas Drake?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to stevie12's topic in General
Correct me if i'm missing something, but i haven't seem Modano even attempt to finish a check yet.. Mike Modano and Dallas Drake are nothing alike. -

Welcome to another year of cheapshots on Franzen, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg. The Brooks Orpik hit is only the beginning of what we're gonna see. -
Well training camp is right around the corner and before we know it,preseason football will be starting.HERE WE GO LIONS!!Any other Detroit fans out there??

The Lessard attempted hit was hilarious. The Battle Of Ontario lives up to its name, even in the preseason. -

Toronto and Ottawa played again tonight. The Leafs got the win. My man Jay Rosehill got into another scrap Some nastiness at the final horn with Mike Komisarek and Zach Smith. -
Meanest defense in the league

Any bets on where Sheldon Souray ends up? I'm saying Columbus. -
With rosters slowly taking their shape, its almost time for another year. Now, a mean defense does not necessarily equal a good defense, but Calgary's defense looks fairly mean: Bouwmeester-Regehr Pardy-I.White Giordano-Staios Sarich Anaheim's defense is gonna be pretty mean, but overall, mediocre at best: Lydman-Visnovsky Mikkelson-Mara Sutton-Brookbank Festerling Thoughts? Any other teams come to mind?

I've always hated Orpik. Just another reason for me, and many others, I suspect. I didn't see the game, so would you guys say that Orpik deserved the major for kneeing? Was it that bad? And I have to imagine Bertuzzi kicked the s*** out of him, right? -

Salei is gonna be one of LGW's main whipping boys this year. I would've rather had Lilja re-sign here. -

Sorry about that, I knew I was forgetting a defenseman for Philly. Fairly mean looking defense. How about Boston? Chara-Seidenberg Hunwick-J.Boychuk M.Stuart-Ference McQuaid I really Adam McQuaid as the 7th defenseman. Solid stay at home guy. -

As far as Calgary goes, their 7th defenseman will be either Cory Sarich, or Staffan Kronwall, as far as I know. Could be wrong on that, though. Philadelphia will look something like this: Pronger-Timmonen Carle-Mezsaros O'Donnell-Walker(?) I just read an article on TFP that said Peter Forsberg could make an attempt at another NHL comeback. Well the Avs really have no available roster spots, but the article sites Washington among team that could target him, if he indeed makes a comeback. Discuss.
