Now that we are well into free agency, many players are still unsigned, and with the KHL offering mass contracts to persuade players to come overseas. There's been much speculation that the KHL isn't done plucking some NHLers this summer. Some players involved on these rumors are: Slava Kozlov Miroslav Satan Maxim Afinogenov Ilya Kovalchuk Alexander Frolov Marek Svatos Jason Williams Glen Metropolit Robert Lang Ales Kotalik Denis Grebeshkov Ville Koistinen Discuss

I don't want them to.There's still plenty of snarl to be acquired.
-
If Franzen,Ericsson, and Bertuzzi ditch the ballerina outfits and get mean here and there..oh boyy..
-
I can't imagine anyone from the NHL giving Jason Williams a call.
-
Anyone that gives Williams a contract is..wow I wouldn't take Artyukhin for free. One of the most undisciplined players in the league.I wouldn't mind Afinogenov if we had already solved the snarl, issue.
-
Especially the older guys like Slava Kozlov and Fredrik Modin who will be closer to their families.
-
I'm thinking: Frolov Artyukhin Afinogenov Schubert Lang Satan J.Williams Meyer Zubrus Grebeshkov Modin All to the KHL
-
Exactly. There's plenty more players that can be added to the list: Christoph Schubert Fredrik Modin Freddy Meyer Dainius Zubrus (could be bought out by New Jersey)

There's still plenty of talent and valuable veteran leadership out there.I'm interested to see where the likes of Kariya and Selanne go.Not saying Detroit will pick any of these guys up except may Modano, but here's a list of talent that's still available: *Ilya Kovalchuk-Looks like he'll stay in Newark *Paul Kariya-Still has speed and skill, looking to re-unite with Selanne *Teemu Selanne-Could be Anaheim or retire *Mike Modano-Detroit or retire *Owen Nolan-Grizzly veteran.good locker room presence *Mike Comrie-He's been bouncing around the league, but he's got talent and speed. *Daymond Langkow-looks like his days in Calgary are over with the returns of Alex Tanguay and Olli Jokinen.Still has some offensive upside. *Alexander Frolov-No doubt talented, but his asking price seems a bit high *Raffi Torres-Solid,hard hitting third liner with some offensive upside.Reports say Toronto is among the front-runners for his services. *Arron Asham-Hits,produces points, fights;he's gotta be getting a lot of offers *Craig Conroy-Wiley veteran, would be a good veteran presence for a young team *John Madden-Defensive specialist, excellent faceoff guy.Veteran presence.Knows how to win. *Maxim Afinogenov-Great set of hands and very speedy. *Alexei Ponikarovsky-Never really developed with s***tsburgh *Bill Guerin-Team guy.Grizzly, snarly veteran that will provide whatever a team needs to win. *Willie Mitchell-True shut-down defenseman *Andy Sutton-Hard hitting, stay at home guy. Get a load of this WingsfaninMA guy.LGW's newest troll.welcome to the forums, bro. FYI,smaller contracts are a little easier to move than a contract like Gagne, hence the speculation of dealing bottom 6 forwards, which tend to have smaller contracts. Get your s*** straight before you get on here and try to poke fun. -
Janik over Meech,hands down,when we're talking defensemen.Janik is more of a 3rd pairing defenseman.

Are you ready for some football?!?!?

Yeah he's gonna be fun to watch.Hopefully the offensive line protects him a little better than last year.. -

Hopefully Nate Burleson will prove to be well worth the money. -

Doesn't look like Carcillo or Cote have a spot.Powe the 13th forward?there's been speculation of maybe moving Carle, but he seems to play well with Pronger. -

I did forget Giroux, nice pickup Zohan. All the more reason to speculate they're gonna be moving some role players. -
Sharks sign RFA Niklas Hjalmarsson

Hopefully they lose Sharp.Hopefully Niemi gets awarded so much to the point where they lose him too and are forced to call up Blagojovich or Oprah to play goalie. -

I'd love for Cote to he acquired, but he's not gonna get much playing time.I'd rather Carcillo.I have a bad feeling Cote will rot in the minors if he comes here. -
I can always remember when McCarty got that hat trick against Colorado in the 2002 WCF too: "HAT TRICK!HAT TRICK!!DARREN MCCARTY!"
-
"McCarty drives,McCarty in,McCarty,SCORESSSSSSS!!!!!! A MAGNIFICENT GOAL!! DARREN MCCARTY!!!" My favorite announcer of all time.I miss him calling games so bad

Jesse Jackson and all the black rights activist don't want equality because if there was no controversy then they'd all be out f jobs. It's all to keep the pot stirred.Buncha dumbasses. -
It really doesn't look like Lilja is gonna be back next year. He's already stated he wants a top 4 role, which he clearly isn't gonna get in Detroit. If need be,there's plenty of other shot-blocking defensemen on the market.
-
Minnesota has a lot of forwards already under contract though.I don't think Modano will be in Minnesota next year.I'm thinking San Jose or Anaheim.
-
Yeah with every day that passes without signing anywhere,i think these guy's stocks drop little by little.I can't believe Sutton hasn't been signed anywhere yet.
