Minnesota's lines could look something like: Cullen-M.Koivu-Havlat Brunette-Sheppard-Miettinen Kobasew-Brodziak-Clutterbuck Nystrom-W.Peters-Staubitz

Sharks sign RFA Niklas Hjalmarsson

They matched it,therefore retaining him. -
Yeah with Malhotra signing with Vancouver, the Sharks have an open spot for 3rd line center....
-
wow....Mikko Koivu for 7 mil a year? yikes.Maybe 4 mil.Wicked overpayment there. That'll come back to bite them in the ass sooner or later.
-
Is Crombeen a RFA?I thought St.Louis had him under contract?

Dan Cleary working way back from surgery
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to CenterIce's topic in General
Yeah but it simply doesn't work that way.He couldn't have planned on getting hurt for a fourth of the year and sign for a fourth less. -
for 750 K,Kenny really got a steal in re-signing Eaves. He's easily the most underrated player on the team.

Not everyone plays all 82 games every single season.Cleary is a battler so of course he's gonna get banged up here and there.Give the guy a break. If he comes back 100% next year and puts up 25 points in 65 or 70 games, then i'll understand people's frustration. -
I wouldn't mind seeing Mair in Detroit. There's still plenty of grit out there.Kenny will pick someone up before the beginning of the season.
-
Lol at Heaten's post about Kenny "relentlessly" pursuing Modano. He's stated that if it doesn't work out,oh well.Get over it.Modano isn't coming here.

You're kidding yourself if you think that fighting is not important in the sport of hockey. That's like saying tall players aren't important in basketball.

The Blues to Win the Central This year?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hank Dats 'N Homer's topic in General
I know if Sharp goes,I'm gonna laugh so ******* hard.Chicago is a great example of how not to handle the cap -
As much as I'd like Torres here, its really sounding like he plans on being a Leaf next year.I've been saying Owen Nolan all along.A little Irish temper never hurts Begin, like Bitz,is a center and we already have too many. How about Brian Boyle from the Rangers?is he available?I believe he plays wing but I may be mistaken.

Chicago's bottom 6 has been demolished by the cap issue.Fraser,Eager,Burish,Ladd all gone.Madden likely on his way out too.Is Brian Burke still looking at Patrick Sharp?I remember reading somewhere that Toronto was interested in acquiring him. -
I doubt Bitz makes more than like 650 K.Wonder if he can play wing.As for Asham, every day that goes by,his stock goes down a little bit more. He's obviously asking for way too much money.Otherwise, someone would have picked him up by now. What's Darcy Tucker's status?

Forget the roster,Cleary is one of the must underrated players in the league.the guy plays his brains out every single game and once he's injured, its time to trade him.Give me a break. This guy's a warrior.Give him a chance to get back to 100% before you bash his game. -
NHL.com just posted a good article on Callahan too. There's still plenty of sandpaper available out there.I think the reason Miller and Meech got contracts that were so low was a planned sign and trade.I'm not completely convinced that he's given up on acquiring a little bit of nastiness.Obviously,he's been known in the past to wait until training camp or whatever and pick someone up.He doesn't like paying a lot for a bottom 6 guy,and I agree with his mindset in that aspect.4th liners aren't supposed to be demanding a mil. There's still plenty of names out there they can mix it up. Arron Asham Adam Mair Byron Bitz Nick Tarnasky Andrew Peters Brian McGrattan Jamal Mayers Like the OP said, maybe he doesn't want to go through FA.Meech and Miller have easily tradeable contracts,I think we'll see some nastiness acquired.

Good stuff.

Bettman's salary=number of rigged games against Detroit X a million. Do the math,he's livin' real good.

The Blues to Win the Central This year?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hank Dats 'N Homer's topic in General
Chicago is clearly heading downhill. The article had its flaws lol.As for St.Louis, people seem to say "watch out for the Blues next year" every single summer. That being said,I think they could be a playoff contender assuming Halak plays decent all year. They don't have a ton of offensive firepower, even less now with Kariya leaving.I'm not sure what their cap situation is,but I'm interested to see who they will pick up to fill the spots of Kariya and Tkachuk in the top 6.If they can acquire some scoring punch, they will be a very well rounded team. They're not gonna be easy to play against with tough guys like Cam Janssen,B.J. Crombeen, and Brad Winchester in the bottom 6.As for the defense, assuming Erik Johnson is re-signed,they seem to have solid defensive corps.I'm expecting to see more of Alex Pietrangelo on the blue line. They've got solid shut down guys in Barret Jackman and Roman Polak,as well as prospect Tyson Strachan. I think Nashville's signing of Matthew Lombardi was a bit underrated.Everyone seems to count the Preds out every year, but they play playoff-caliber hockey with very limited funds. So if the Blues acquire some offense,I'm thinking a playoff spot is in their future, but not the Central.I think we take it back -
Kenny gets paid in Euros
-
Newfy, you got it right I'm happy that Callahan won't be wearing a visor! anyways, the Carcillo comparisons are obviously a good sign.Sounds like he'll be able to put up some points. Can't wait to see him in preseason action.
-
The sooner Callahan is in Detroit, the better. Can't wait.Anyone heard anything about Landon Ferraro?
-
Is Mitchell Callahan eligible to play in Detroit next year if he really impresses?Maybe that could be why Kenny hasn't acquired any grit this offseason.Maybe Mitchell Callahan and/or Darren Archibald are really tearing it up.
