When it's all said and done,doesn't Doug Janik seem like a solid 3rd pairing guy?Why not give him a shot.Its not like we absolutely have to sign another defenseman.I'd be fine with a 3rd defensive pairing of Ericsson and Janik.

Well 2007,when Anaheim won.Parros,May..But every team that wins the Cup has a BALANCE of skill,speed,and grit.Its all about balance.I think we need more grit.That should be the top priority.

I agree that Abdelkader will be a Maltby type guy.I think Abdelkader should focus more on developing his offensive game than worrying about being "the enforcer".There's plenty of guys that are still out there that will keep the flies off: Arron Asham (Yes,unlikely due to $) Jared Boll (RFA) Andrew Peters Eric Boulton Nick Tarnasky Steve Begin Ben Eager,Tanner Glass,Cam Janssen,and Jared Boll all filed for arbitration,so they could possibly be on the move.

I've never really understood arbitration.When a guy files for it,what's the point?Does this mean Meech will be a Wing next year for sure?I'm clueless when it comes to arbitration.

I'm not saying he's a horrible player I'm just saying I don't think he's worth 8 mil.Jesusberg made a good point in pointing out that he really tried to carry New Jersey on his back,but he's got guys like Parise and Zajac who are highly skilled players as well.He's probably used to being sort of forced into carrying a team on his back from his Thrasher years,but he's got a sold team surrounding him in New Jersey.He needs to let everyone do their role,instead of trying to do everything.
