Stuart faces hearing for hit to head
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to rrasco's topic in General
If this suspnsion is indeed a precedent-setter, I don't think it'll be awful long before we see someone get a record-long suspension. I'm just gonna hope that this is not a setter of predecent. -
The person below me game...

Technically, yes. I can speak a little French and some Italian, in addition to English, obviously. The person below me likes to study radical political theory. -

Or the magic Conch Shell.I miss Stuart. It's weird how sometimes things (or in this case, players) aren't really appreciated until they're gone. -

Any suspension for that hit is ridiculous. Anyone else outraged by this? -

A hit that results in an injury is not dirty by default. Unbelievable. -
Will young talent ever speak out against Wings philosophy?

Not if they wanna get called up before they turn 30. Wait... -
Steve Yzerman wants Game Misconduct penalties for fighting
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to thegerkin's topic in General
I wouldn't say Gudas is an "undisciplined goon". However, it is ironic that his team has guys like Pierre-Cedric Labrie and B.J. Crombeen, who don't offer a whole lot other than fighting. -

So getting rid of enforcers and fighting will lessen cheap shots and stick work? -
Patrick Roy goes crazy on Bruce Boudreau
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Well, at least Roy is bringing some life back to the organization. Fans seemed to like it. -

Are teams going to "bait" us into fighting?

This is typically where the instigator rule debate starts. -

-I can't speak for everybody, but fights after clean hits drive me nuts. It serves as a deterrent for clean, hard hitting.-Fights right off the draw are not necessarily "staged", in that both players are fighting for the hell of it without any reason or passion. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the Georges Laraque-esque scrap off the draw. However, I couldn't get behind additionally penalizing players for it. -Fights between two enforcers simply because they're on the ice often, but not always, come off the draw. -The last statement, I suppose, could be classified as guys, involved in the incident or not, sending a message. -
Who will be LGW's whipping boy this season?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Nev's topic in General
Personally, I see Samuelsson, Cleary, Franzen, Bertuzzi, and Quincey as candidates. Seems there are a lot of players that aren't particularly liked by the LGW crowd (including myself, admittedly). Yeah, I'm still picking up the remains of my blown mind after seeing that Sammy is starting on the 4th line. -
gdt 10/2 GDT : Sabres 1 at Red Wings 2
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
LGW. Hoping for solid opening performances from Alfredsson and Weiss. On a side note, its awesome to see Cody McCormick back in the NHL. I've always liked him. -
Old time hockey, like it or not. Sabres/Leafs games are gonna be real chippy this year. Scott is gonna have hands full once these teams meet in the regular season. Orr and McLaren will be after him. I fear for the Sabres, because outside of Scott, who do they have? It's not a guarantee that Cody McCormick makes the team. Ott is a bad fighter, and Kaleta has his gloves glued on. They're gonna get pounded.

Signed Cleary re-signs with Detroit, 1 year, $1.75m deal
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to wingedominance13's topic in General
He's a shadow of his former self, but Cleary was still one of our best players in the postseason. Guy plays balls to the wall when it counts. If Samuelsson leaves then I'll be happy. -

Off the top of my head: -I hate Walmart for reasons already stated in this thread. -I hate McDonalds for their poor animal record and for basically being the symbol of global corporate capitalism. -I hate so many other corporations that it's probably better to just leave it at those two. -I only use organic health products (shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream, lotion, deodorant, etc), which I suppose isn't very popular. -

Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in Water Cooler
Nope, I kept it under control tonight. Should I take it as a positive sign that my girlfriend's mother wanted to have a drink with me tonight and just sit around and talk? The person below me hasn't been on LGW much lately because of school. -
New enemies, whom do you fear the most?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
It will be interesting to see how things unfold in the east. The Islanders are looking to take that next step. Toronto has something to prove. Pittsburgh has something to prove. Boston is likely to be a contender once again. Columbus is a bubble team. Same with Washington. I wouldn't be worried about guys like Steve MacIntyre at all. He may not play in an NHL game again. I'd be more concerned about physical players that can play a regular shift and see more than 5 minutes of ice time. We should watch out for guys like Matt Martin, Chris Neil, Wayne Simmonds, etc. Guys like John Scott, Eric Boulton, Matt Kassian, and George Parros likely won't see many games against us. That said, we're going to have to play more physical. It's just obligatory. -

Nope, never been a huge fan of lemonade. I'll do ice cream once in a while, but I'm not in the mood for it at the moment. The person below me expects to finish reading a book tomorrow. -

I'm very opinionated when it comes to political philosophy, so yes. The person below me listens to Kid Rock's older music. -
Agreed. Those teams back then had guys like Bure, Lindros, Kovalev, and Leetch, and from what I remember, they didn't make the playoffs in the few years before the lockout.

Was wondering if anyone out there was looking to get rid of jerseys. I'm specifically looking for Osgood, McCarty, Draper, Maltby, Probert, or Kocur. PM me.

I don't really get zits, and teenagerdom wasn't that far back for me. The person below me is deeply, deeply saddened by the news that Jody Shelley has retired.
