I get what you're saying,but i think Burke wants a guy that can score and throw around his body on a more regular basis than Thornton.Guys that come to my mind are Nathan Horton and Ryan Malone.

Well I think they will try to trade Thornton,clearly the biggest choker in the NHL,next to Hossa.Whether they can get someone to take him,who knows.Maybe they will put Marleau on the trade block.As far as i know,they have a lot of money tied up in contracts of players who have proved underachieving over and over again.Scott Nichol and Manny Malhotra will likely be let go.Niclas Wallin may be allowed to walk.I don't really see them re-signing him.I'm not familiar with Rob Blake's contract situation but i can imagine if his contract is up,they head their separate ways.Heatley really took after Thornton and completely choked and didnt show up,especially in the Chicago series.Not too familiar with his contract situation tho.Maybe they part ways with Nabokov??

Eric Nystrom for the fourth line.Get rid of Lilja and sign Sheldon Brookbank.Ryan Malone adds a little bit of scoring and grit.Lombardi would be okay too.A lot of this depends on what Lidstrom and Holmstrom do.

Yeah it would be horrible seeing him skating in another sweater,but he knows we're in the middle of another cap crunch.If he leaves Detroit like this,if he gets greedy and goes where the money is,much like Fedorov did before the lockout,there will definitely be mixed emotions about him.Everytime Fedorov shows up in Detroit,he gets his ass booed off because of the way he left the team.Bottom line is Homer can't be greedy,especially now.
