signed Wings sign Stephen Weiss, 5-years, $24.5m
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Matt's topic in General
That's a big part of it. And the fact that Filppula is soft as baby turd. -
Supposedly he wasn't coming back, according to sources.Any updates on the supposed interest in Morrow? He's an upgrade over Cleary. Jeez, where the hell are we gonna put all these forwards?

Later. Never was a fan of him. -

I like Weiss better than Filppula so I suppose I'm jelly with this. -
Update on this situation? Last I heard, he was as good as gone.

Let Cleary walk. If these rumors of Morrow are true, I'll take Morrow over Cleary every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Alfredsson Franzen-Weiss-Nyquist Tatar-Helm-Morrow Miller-Andersson-Tootoo Eaves/Bertuzzi Forgot Abby..so many forwards..

I'm not really sure how to feel right now. It's only the 1st day of free agency, and I have a feeling that Ken isn't done making moves. I'm not happy, but I'm not fuming. That's where I'm at right now.

Place me on suicide watch if Mike Ribeiro signs with us.

Noon EST.

Don't you ******* do it, Ken.

So....the guy is a UFA in a few hours... Why has he not been re-signed? Seriously though?

Wings buy out Colaiacovo, will keep Bertuzzi

1. Find some way to get rid of Samuelsson 2. Let Valerie walk. 3. Let Cleary walk, or sign him to a short, cheaper contract, and reduce his role to that of a bottom 6er. 4. Trade Emmerton for a pack of hockey cards. 5. Let White walk (pretty much a given at this point). 6. Sign Eric Nystrom. 7. Sign Ryane Clowe. Horton looking 6m for 5/6 years

Columbus plays a hard-working, gritty style, so Horton would fit right in. -

Aaaaaaaaaaannnnnndddd this is getting ridiculous. -
True. Message sent to Matt.

At that point, we're just about as soft as the '05-06 team.
-
Shhh..we have to hope he doesn't hear about Kuba's buyout. I don't think our team can get much softer.

If we're gonna overpay someone $5 million for 5 years, may as well overpay a younger, more versatile David Clarkson. Weiss isn't worth $5 million/year. -
Kuba had a terrible season. No surprise.

Cleary and Samuelsson obviously have some major dirt on Ken. It's bizarre that Samuelsson hasn't been bought out yet. -
Short answer-no. Long answer-no.

Red Wings won't pursue David Clarkson

Not sure that'll fly in the east. -
Something has got to give. Simple as that.

While he's not worth $5 million per season, I wouldn't say he's garbage. He's proven to be a solid net presence, and if he continues to produce the way he has recently, I consider him a power forward.
