Red Wings won't pursue David Clarkson

I'd sell my dad to get McGrattan. -
Wings buy out Colaiacovo, will keep Bertuzzi

3 years at $3mil per? Don't ******* do it, Kenny. -
Wings buy out Colaiacovo, will keep Bertuzzi
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to evilzyme's topic in General
Now, get a snarly stay at home defensemen that clears the crease. Douglas Murray, Ryan O'Byrne, or Jim Vandermeer. Bertuzzi is still effective if he can get healthy, so I'm not upset that he's sticking around. -
Canucks place Keith Ballard on waivers
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
Is Vancouver going to be pursuing defensemen through free agency? -
Wow, Rick Dipietro to be bought out by the Islanders. Didn't see that one coming. ...said no one ever.

Hawks re-sign Bickell (4 years 16 mill)
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
Overpayment, considering he's never topped 40 points in his career. Had a great postseason, but this contract could come back to bite the 'Hawks in the ass. -
Islanders addressed their need for more physicality with the acquisition of Clutterbuck. Him and Matt Martin on the same line would be a bruising experience for the opposition. Toronto adds grit and veteran experience with the acquisition of Bolland. Underperformed in the regular season with Chicago (although he played well in the playoffs). Shocked Chicago traded him.

Not exactly headline news, but Colby Armstrong will not be back with Montreal next year.

Tyler Seguin available? what would do cost be
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
With Horton, Ference, Jagr, and Pandolfo going to free agency, and both Seguin and Peverley being shopped, the Bruins could look significantly different next season. -
As long as he stays away from Detroit. Letang is overrated and horrible defensively.

Calgary gets younger. Sarich and O'Brien play a similar style. Interesting trade.

Jagr, Ference and Pandolfo Will Not Be Re-signed
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to a topic in General
Money will likely be used to re-sign Horton. -
How're we supposed to play against teams like Boston, Toronto, and Philly with a lineup like this? We're gonna get smashed into the ice. Getting rid of Tootoo would make the situation even worse. People act like he's a useless goon that can't score. It's pretty comical.

Where does Frattin fit in with Los Angeles? Will he take Penner's spot if he bails? Also, are the Leafs moving Frattin anticipating bringing Clarkson in?

Grand Rapids Griffins Win Calder Cup! 5-2 win in game 6
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to FlashyG's topic in General
Congrats to the Griffs. Awesome game tonight. The crowd was rowdy as hell. Can't wait to see Tatar in Detroit full-time. Guy always seems to have an extra step on the defense. -
I just don't understand how people call for Tootoo to get bought out, then advocate for Emmerton on the 4th line. Tootoo is far more valuable than Emmerton. I don't mind guys like Miller and Eaves, but you're right, they're not the best 4th liners out there.
-
For some reason, some people consider Tootoo "one-dimensional" just because he fights. His offensive capabilities are overlooked or blatantly ignored by some on here. I don't see why we can't have Miller AND Tootoo on the 4th line. I've grown to like Miller. Emmerton is the weak link and should be shipped out, in my opinion. As I've said before, we're the softest team in the league without Tootoo.

Flyers sign Streit - 4 yrs/5.25million
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to e_prime's topic in General
That's a good question. Possibly Niklas Backstrom? -
How many points do you see him putting up next season, considering he recorded 8 points in 42 games this season?

Flyers sign Streit - 4 yrs/5.25million
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to e_prime's topic in General
Too long of a deal, considering Streit's age. However, he'll be good for them in the short-term. If I was to guess, Philly's defense will look something along the lines of this: Timonen-Streit Schenn-Coburn Grossman-Gustafsson -
Visors Required - New NHL Players in '13-'14
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Holmstrom96's topic in General
Around 70% of players are wearing visors already. It seems to increase every year, so I don't feel like mandating players to wear them is necessary. -
I guess that depends on what happens over the offseason around the league, but without Tootoo, we're easily one of the softest teams in the league, possibly the softest.
-
Buying Tootoo out would be idiotic, considering we're gonna be regularly playing teams like Boston and Toronto next season. Without Tootoo, we're the softest team in the league.
