    2013 Offseason Thread

-Let Filppula walk -Let White walk -Only re-sign Cleary at reduced rate and only for the bottom 6. Otherwise he should walk -Re-sign RFAs -Re-sign Drew Miller -Buyout Samuelsson -Buyout Bertuzzi I'd really like to see Franzen gone, but that's fairly unrealistic, so I won't go there. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Franzen Tatar-Nyquist-UFA Abdelkader-Helm-Brunner Miller-Andersson-Tootoo Eaves/Cleary Don't see the defense changing much from what we saw in the playoffs.

    Franzen Buyout?

I don't see why Tootoo should be bought out. He did exactly what was expected of him-play physical, drop the gloves when needed, and put up a few points.

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Blackhawks 2 OT (CHI wins series, 4-3)

Let me start by saying this: I didn't think this team would make it past the 1st round. They surprised me when they knocked Anaheim out. However, I had a bad feeling they'd blow their 3-1 lead in this series. We went further than expected, but we've got glaring needs. The better team won. Also, I can't believe some of you are seriously calling that Bolland hit a missed boarding call. Shame on yourselves. Nobody would be talking about that hit if Seabrook didn't score. Give me a break.

    The person below me game...

Nah, I've got the average, everyday stuff down without a problem. The person below me has a garden.

    Rags Fire Torts

Rangers could be a different looking team next season. Ryane Clowe, Roman Hamrlik, Steve Eminger, and Matt Gilroy are all UFAs. I think its safe to say Hamrlik walks or retires. Gilroy didn't see much playing time, so.I could see him walking. Who knows with Clowe and Eminger. I don't expect drastic changes, because they've got a good core of players in Ryan Callahan, Carl Hagelin, Derek Stepan, Derrick Brassard, Ryan McDonagh, and Dan Girardi. Lindy Ruff a possible replacement?

I'm too young to answer that The person below me wishes they didn't live in the middle of nowhere.

    trade idea for next year

No, I wasn't high. However, I had a few before the game even began yesterday, so yeah, we ought to not make that trade.I guess I inadvertently trolled you guys, lulz.

I do like apples. The person below me is considering going vegetarian.

Quite the detailed reply. Care to, if possible, elaborate more?

Nope. The person below me is in a sticky relationship issue, and doesn't know what to do about it.

If anything, it will get people in Colorado interested in the Avalanche again.

    Unsung Hero....Colaiacovo?

He's been playing well lately. Good to see he's shown up for the playoffs.

Should we bring Tootoo in for game 4?

I've been a critic of Babs not playing Tootoo regularly throughout the playoffs, but there is no reason to change the lines after a big win, especially since Eaves and Miller scored yesterday. Seeing Bickell run around after the whistles and stuff yesterday was especially humorous, considering he had 1 fight in 48 regular season games this season. The guy is built, and he's effective when he plays a physical style, but he's a fake. 8 career NHL fights.

    The person below me game...

I do. The person below me wonders why Jordin Tootoo hasn't seen much playing time in the playoffs.

WCSF Game 1 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Blackhawks 4, (CHI leads series 1-0)

I still don't understand why Tootoo isn't playing. Honestly.

Why is Cleary still on the team?

He's made a great comeback since coming here in 2005/2006, but it is time for him to hang 'em up. He's just not effective anymore. Guy played with heart, grit, and determination in his best days, but he just looks out of it a lot of the time now. I'd be upset if we brought him back at this point in his career.

NHL penalties/suspensions for hits getting out of hand.

Torres' hit didn't look late. Stoll's head was down, and it didn't appear that Torres targeted the head. He'll get suspended because of his name. Its stupid to punish (or not punish) players based on the actual hit, anyway.

Any pickins from the Canucks carcass?

I'd be down with acquiring Kassian.

WCSF - (6) San Jose Sharks vs. (5) Los Angeles Kings

Can't root for San Jose, considering Pavelski, Couture, Thornton, and Burish.

    Helm Status Update

Not good news. Hopefully he can be back to 100% come next year. Back issues are unpredictable, though. His presence has really been missed.

Which team had/has a stronger forecheck Anaheim or Chicago?

Chicago plays very well in the neutral zone. However, their forecheck is not to be overlooked. We had trouble handling Anaheim's forecheck, and something tells me we'll have trouble with Chicago's, as well.
