NHL, NHLPA reach tentative agreement on new CBA

<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Barrie" data-cid="2337970" data-time="1357504329">
Please don't go running back! Stand up for yourselfs and show Bettman and Fehr we won't put up with their crap any longer! Full areans will only give leadership the financial support that what they did to us was right, and we'll probably see another lockout in 8 years.

This is your entertainment dollars we're talking about! Show them what they did to us was wrong!

Agreed. They can f uck themselves if they think I'm spending a dime on anything (tickets, merchandise, Center Ice, etc). I'll still be on LGW to discuss the game and the like. It isn't fair for me to take my anger with this pathetic excuse for a sports league out on a website that isn't affiliated with it. I still love the game of hockey as much as ever, but the NHL can go to hell. I'm not buying a damn thing from them. I can't wait for the sight of empty arenas. -

These crybabies have no clue how many people they have impacted whining about who gets the bigger piece of their multi-million dollar pie. How about the employees that didn't work during the lockout? Not one mention of them by the league or the players. This lockout has displayed their true colors. The NHL is nothing but a corporation that will put anyone and everyone at risk to ensure that they make as large a profit as possible. The blatant disregard for the fans and the hourly employees is both offending and intolerable. What a magical last-minute deal to ensure that they can continue to pocket their millions. They didn't do it for the fans, they did it because they were feeling increased pressure from their corporate sponsors to get a deal done. "Thank You Fans!" -
A few months back, the players were talking about making a list of known divers. It was proposed that lists of divers be posted in every locking room to embarrass the mentioned players and force them to stop the exaggeration. 1. How should the NHL tackle the problem of diving and general exaggeration? 2. Create a league-wide list of known divers.

I'm one of the most conservative drivers out there. The person below me is enjoying the sight of snowfall from their window. -
Forgive me for being so far out of the loop, but is this whole buyout process going to be a part of the CBA? Or is this merely speculation at this point?

Ryan Kesler Sidney Crosby Max Lapierre Brad Marchand Alexander Semin Max Talbot Devin Setoguchi Joe Thornton Alex Burrows Sedin sisters Dustin Brown P.K. Subban Joe Pavelski Patrick Kaleta Mike Ribeiro Franzen does too, although not nearly as often as those mentioned above. Tootoo used to one of the worst, but has cut down on the diving in the last few years. It would be just plain inaccurate to say he doesn't do it at all anymore, though. Samuelsson needs to be mentioned, as well. There needs to be a return of suspensions handed out for blatant embellishment and diving.

Name some retired players that never played with the Wings that you always wanted in a Detroit jersey. I'll start this off by saying I always wanted Gary Roberts to play in Detroit. Discuss.

Player discussions II: Kronwall, Filppula, Howard
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to a topic in General
Kronwall: -He's a capable top-paring defenseman. -Tough to tell how he'll play with more ice time. -He's worth his current contract. -Ehhh..40 points? Filppula: -He has reached his prime -4 years, $14 mil. -Lines change so much these days. -I would offer him the above contract. -25 goals, 45 assists, 70 points. Howard: -Definitely a top 20. I'd even go top 15. Not too sure about top 10. -Everyone will suffer from the loss of Lidstrom. -4 years, $14 mil. -I would offer him the above contract. This is cool. Keep this up, Irishock. -

I have not. I ate quite a bit, but burned it all off playing hockey! The person below me is aware of the blatant unconstitutionality of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). -
Player discussions: Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Franzen
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to a topic in General
I hope he doesn't play through his whole contract. -
I loved the teams from the late 90's. The teams from the late 90's were so well-rounded, which is why they had the success that they did. Hard to go against our 2002 team, too. I was not happy at all with the teams from the first few years after the 2004/2005 lockout (2005/06 and 2006/07). In my opinion, our most well-rounded team since the lockout has been our 2008 team. I really liked that team. I want a healthy balance of finesse and snarl. I doubt we'd be able to get Stamkos, Selanne, and Malkin here. That is why the team I put looks the way it does. Personally, I think that team is definitely a playoff team.

WJC: Jenner Ejected for hit on Pettersson
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to rrasco's topic in General
Punish the action, not the result. It was a late hit, no doubt. Penalize him for the act of hitting someone late, not the result of him getting hurt, which he didn't have control over. -
Oh, boy. Crymson vs. Axe, round #174.
-
I think the league is toast if they lose the full year. They have a hard enough time getting people in Dallas, Columbus, and Phoenix to go to games as it is. It will get even worse if the full year is cancelled.

Player discussions: Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Franzen
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to a topic in General
Datsyuk: -I think he's still among the league's best players. However, he is starting to slow down a bit. -I'm not so sure he'll be back after his contract is up. Wasn't he quoted as saying he wants to play in Russia before he hangs up his skates? I hope he is back, but I'm not overly confident. -I don't think his injuries are as serious as Yzerman's were. -He can definitely play at a high level until his current contract is up. Zetterberg: -Not top 10 or 20, but he's a top 30 player, primarily because of his defensive prowess. -I think he'll stay around the same level of play as Captain. -Unfortunately, he's not gonna be able to play at a high level for another 7 years. -Tough call on whether his number goes to the rafters. I say no, not because I don't think he's been a great player, but because of the other names up there. Seems only the legends get up there. Franzen: -I lean more towards hating him. -He's too streaky to predict whether he can score 30 again or not. -It is debatable whether he is worth his contract. -I'd absolutely void his contract if an amnesty-like clause is in the CBA. -
I don't really care anymore. I've been paying zero attention to it. Believe it or not, the world continues to spin without the NHL.
