Flyers sign Weber to offer sheet: 14y/$110m ($56m 1st 4yrs)

Once, I saw this, I thougt to myself "Trade negotiations must've went sour and Holmgren pulled a **** move and threw the offer sheet at him". Well, I guess I was right Dicck move by Holmgren, but an even bigger dicck move by Weber to sign it. Nashville is trapped, now. Lose their top defensive pairing in one summer, or lose 1 guy and financially trap yourself? From what I remember, Nashville and Philly have been friendly and frequent trade partners in the past. I can't imagine this relationship will continue.- 469 replies

Could trade rumors spark Franzen?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Wings4Life19's topic in General
Wait. Franzen was the one who used to be known as "The Mule"? -
Mike Modano pondering comeback?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Wing Across The Pond's topic in General
Same goes for Sheldon Souray. Why's he even still playing? -
Just about anyone would be an upgrade over Emmerton as our 4th line center. Its obvious that we have too many bottom 6 forwards. Guys will be traded or placed on waivers, there is no getting around that. I'd like to think Ken would get a legitimate 4th line center, but I doubt it. I think both Sheahan and Andersson should see at least a few games this year. But you know the overripe thing, so we won't see a lot of either of them.

With a move or two, I think this roster is realistic: Benn-Datsyuk-Ryan Doan-Zetterberg-Simmonds Upshall-Helm-Pyatt Neil-MacKenzie-Tootoo McGrattan Kronwall-Weber Volchenkov-Sarich Erskine-Vandermeer B.Smith What?

Could trade rumors spark Franzen?

Franzen and "spark" do not go in the same sentence. Neither do Franzen and "motivate", for that matter. -
Signed Red Wings re-sign Quincey: 2-years, $7.55m total, $3.775/yr

The saying goes hockey plays have long memories. Tootoo vs. Quincey at practice? -
Mike Modano pondering comeback?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Wing Across The Pond's topic in General
I heard Maltby is coming back, too. Get it done, Ken! The only reason Modano wants to come back is because he discovered how expensive it is to feed his fatass dog. -

The deal is for a little more than I would've liked to see, but I don't mind this. Hopefully he can be more consistent next year. -

Did we just become best friends? -
According to the Bruins website, it is a 1-year, two-way deal worth $600,000 at the NHL level and $130,000 at the AHL level. The defense corps in Grand Rapids continues to shrink. Hopefully Exelby can make his way back into the league. He's only 30.

3-year, $5.75 mil extension. Don't see many players stick with one organization their whole career, but it looks like Neil may be one of them. Great deal for Ottawa. A great team guy and a fan favorite.

In exchange for a 4th round pick in 2013 and 2014 and a 5th, according to TFP's David Pagnotta. Just what the doctor ordered for Tampa. Adds some grit and character to an otherwise soft team. Good pickup by Stevie.

Sign Jurcina or Vandermeer and call it a day
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to stevkrause's topic in General
Doesn't look too bad, however Quincey is really gonna have to step it up. I'm a big fan of Vandermeer and would be ecstatic if he signed here. He knows his role and he plays it well. -
Chris Neil Signs Extension With Ottawa

Same here. He's been among my favorite players since he broke into the league. Guy is a true warrior. -
How bad are we if our roster is now finalized?

You're not supposed to tell him, Crymson. Its fun watching him make an ass out of himself. -

I don't feel the mods are unfair. For the most part, from what I've seen, they're pretty lenient. I poke at some posters here sometimes, but I hope they know its all in good fun. Guys like Centcougar make it fun to come here simply because he tries to troll and when he is confronted with facts, he conveniently takes a couple days off LGW. -
This post has been approved by Bring Back The Bruise Bros C'mon, Esteef. I'm willing to wait a little longer. I don't think Holland's gonna stand pat with this team. And I'm not even a Holland poodle.

I'm posting this solely because he was a Griffin. 2-way deal. This could spell trouble on the farm. I'm fairly certain Janik is considering playing in Europe, and Exelby is testing the free agent market.

Did it once. Nothing to brag about.

You conveniently didn't mention Samuelsson. Believe me, I was pissed off as hell when it was announced Bertuzzi signed for 2 more years. I would've been fine with one. I'm pissed that Samuelsson of all people gets a full NTC in his contract. However, I don't feel throwing in all of our prospects from GR will help anything.

Tootoo's old? He's 29. Tootoo's a has been? Scored 30 points last year. More than many of our bottom 6ers. Franzen-Datsyuk-Jarnkrok Pulkkinen-Filppula-Nyquist Abdelkader-Helm-Tatar Mursak-Emmerton-Brunner Hand us the Cup. Wouldn't want any veterans with experience that know how to win.
