Was thinking earlier about what active and retired ex-Wings have been doing. So, what are some former Wings up to? How are the active ex-Wings playing? Let this serve the same purpose as any other watch thread, but covering a wider range of players. I'll start it off: Matt Ellis- 8 points in 60 games for the Sabres, primarily playing on the 4th line. Ville Leino- A major disappointment for the Sabres this year. 25 points in 71 games. Got that huge contract, and hasn't lived up to it. Mikael Samuelsson- 31 points in 54 games for the surprising Florida Panthers. Tomas Kopecky- 32 points in 80 games for Florda.

Cleary must have done at least one of the following to him: 1) s*** on his dinner table 2) Stole his Social Security Number 3) Torched his house 4) Seduced his woman 5) Seduced his mom 6) Seduced his woman's mom 7) Ran his car into a ditch 8) Spiked his drink at a party 9) Stole his lottery ticket after announcing he won 10) Stole a box of Wheat Thins out of his shopping cart at the local grocery store The hate is bizarre. I know, Torts is a horrible coach for speaking his mind. Might as well just resign. Nevermind the fact he led Tampa to the Cup in 2004, must've been a coincidence. Babcock is afraid to call his team out, let alone call out other teams' players. Torts has something called passion. He calls it as he sees it, and there aren't nearly enough coaches that speak their mind.

Sad thing is, when Bert scored the goal in the shootout against St Louis a few games back, Draperfan was complaining all night about the team, and disappeared when Bertuzzi scored. It's like Bert kicked his puppy into the middle of the road, and it got ran over. Same deal with NBC and Cleary, I understand that you're not gonna love all the guys on the team, but my god the guy can score a hat trick and he'll disappear until Cleary has a bad game and be like "LOL WOW HE BLOWZZZ!!! f*** CLEARY!"

Wow, who do I hate more? Considering the following: San Jose- Thornton, Pavelski, Couture, Moore, Clowe St. Louis- Jackman, Backes Well... I guess I'm gonna root for the Blues here. I would've liked to see Vancouver and San Jose match up in the first round. That way one of the two would be eliminated right off the bat.

This series will be fun to watch. I'm obviously rooting for Philly. I think it will be too close to call, though. Any news on what the lineups for each team will be in game 1? Grossman will play, and it sounds like Briere will play, as well. Maybe Lilja sits on defense? JVR sounds like he will be a few more weeks before he's ready to come back.

We should be looking for a sniper (Zach Parise) and a 4th liner who will throw his body around, win faceoffs, and play important PK minutes (Gregory Campbell). Possibly a replacement for Lidstrom, if he retires. Put Emmerton on waivers with the intent of sending him to Grand Rapids. Trade Cleary and Kindl. Bring in a proven shut-down UFA as a 7th defenseman (Jim Vandermeer), and a UFA to replace Conklin. Franzen-Datsyuk-Parise Zetterberg-Filppula-Nyquist Abdelkader-Helm-Bertuzzi Miller-Campbell-Eaves Mursak Lidstrom/Suter-White Kronwall-Quincey Ericsson-B.Smith Vandermeer Howard UFA Of course this won't happen, though. We won't get Parise because the "asking price was too high, and too many other teams were after him driving up the price". Ken will bring in Sergei Samsonov and call that "grit". He'll keep Emmerton on the 4th line, and Kindl in over Smith, like he is now. Cleary will continue to take shots from behind the net and fall on his ass constantly in a Wings uniform next year.

Well that was lame. Here I was expecting scrums after the whistles, a few good scraps, and the Flyers to win the game. That lame scrap between Vitale and Zolniercyk "settled" the score? Rinaldo got a BS game misconduct call. All that hype. All that anger. Lame.
