Jon Mirasty Jeremy Yablonski Kip Brennan Nick Tarnasky Evgeny Artyukhin Darcy Verot Josh Gratton vs John Scott Steve MacIntytre Brian McGrattan Joel Rechlicz Trevor Gillies Deryk Engelland Matt Carkner Every KHL team will be in attendance to watch the "Tough guys" of their league get killed. 2/19 GDT : Sharks 2 at Red Wings 3

Miller with another great game. Good on Abby for taking on Clowe at the end of the game. I really like his game, lately. No reason to have anyone in there besides J-Mac right now. Rest Howard for the playoffs, and as long as he plays great, keep him in there. f*** the Sharks. 23 in a row! -

Nope. I would never cheat on LGW. The person below me is a fan of Kid Rock's music, both old and new. -
Hope to see him back here next year.

Rick Nash "available for the right team/price"
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Jedi's topic in General
Yeah Burke's gonna make a couple changes before the deadline. Both Toronto and Philadelphia have decent assets to deal, so it will be interesting. Toronto is looking to deal Grabovski and possibly MacArthur. Philadelphia could deal (as discussed) Van Riemsdyk, and possibly Lilja (Considering they've just acquired 2 defensemen). I wouldn't be surprised if Shelley was dealt as well. I believe he is a free agent at the end of the season. He broke into the league with Columbus. -

James Van Riemsdyk would definitely be a part of the deal, if it happened. Maybe Columbus would take this guy back, considering Jared Boll is injured, and Samuel Pahlsson is likely to be dealt at the deadline: -
2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
Colorado is looking to deal defensemen. Shane O'Brien is a UFA at the end of the season. I say we pick him up for a draft pick, see how he plays with Ericsson on the 3rd pairing, and if he floats, get him signed on for next year. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Commodore is gonna see much more playing time, especially if we acquire another defenseman. To be honest, I'd rather have O'Brien than Commodore. I've also heard Ryan Wilson could be dealt out of Denver. He's a little more versatile. I'd be happy with either of the two, but the question is, although the rivalry is long gone, would Detroit even make a trade with Colorado? -

Kindl didn't look good at all last night. If we get Kubina, I wonder if he'll be Stuart's replacement next year, or if he is merely a rental. -

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Him and Conklin, I'd say. -
With Owen Nolan and Mike Comrie recently announcing their retirements, which current NHLers do you think are done after this season? Off the top of my head, here are a few players who have been around the block: *Nicklas Lidstrom- Turns 42 in April. Obviously, this has been discussed here for a while now. I'd love to see him stick around for another year, and I think the Winter Classic couldn't have come to Detroit at a better time. Could lure him back here for one final run at the Cup. *Tomas Holmstrom- 39 years old. This guy has been a warrior for this team for so long. He hasn't said much about his future. He is definitely slowing down, and ineffective at even strength, but still a powerplay specialist. Seems like a toss up for me right now, as to whether he will return or not. *Todd Bertuzzi- 37 years old. Had a terrible start to the year, but has played very well lately. I'd like for us to get younger, but if he can prove that he can play at a high level for the rest of the year, maybe we can keep him for another year. *Roman Hamrlik- Turns 38 in April. Rumored to be on the trade block. He seems to have lost his offensive touch. *Mike Knuble- Turns 40 in July. Another Cap rumored to be on the trade block. His offensive output has dropped significantly. 11 points in 53 games. Hopefully he can discover his game again, I kind of have a soft spot for him, knowing he is a former Wing. *Andrew Brunette- Turns 39 in August. He's played mostly bottom 6 minutes in Chicago, I believe. *Sean O'Donnell- 40 years old. Personally, I wouldn't mind picking him as a #7 defenseman capable of stepping into the lineup when needed. Doesn't take many penalties, other than a fight here and there. Plays a very hard-nosed game, even at his age. *Brendan Morrison- Turns 37 in August. Recently acquired by Chicago. Wasn't getting much time in Calgary. *Brian Rolston- Turns 39 next week. 9 points in 44 games. He's definitely lost his firepower with the puck. *Steve Staios- Turns 39 in July. He's played relatively decently for the Isles. Hopefully he sticks around. *Jamie Langenbrunner- Turns 37 in July. *Daymond Langkow- 35 years old. After he missed most of last year due to injures, he has come back, and hasn't looked all that bad. *Adrian Aucoin- Turns 39 in July. Used to have a decent offensive touch to his game, but has molded himself into more of a stay-at-home type. I think this may be his last season. *Ray Whitney- Turns 40 in May. Put him on the list simply because of his age, but he is having a great year. I think he's got at least one more season left in the tank, maybe more. *Sami Salo- 37 years old. Was having a healthy year until he was low-bridged by Brad Marchand. I wonder how much more his body can take at this point. When he is healthy, he is very skilled with the puck. *John Madden- Turns 39 in May. He's played in 15 games centering Florida's 4th line, after he signed on half way through the year. Hope to see this ironman stick around for at least one more year. *Steve Sullivan- Turns 38 in July. I believe he is a UFA this summer. *Petr Sykora- 35 years old. 28 points in 56 games after making the Devils on a tryout in September. Seems he and Patrik Elias have re-discovered their chemistry. What are your opinions on the future of these guys? Anyone else that comes to mind?

Fair enough. The streak could very well end tonight, especially with Zetterberg out. Hopefully we can grind out a win. -

Dominic would be one of the fist ones to turtle if, God forbid, they were forced to back up their talk. Now that I think about it, Vancouver is still the most annoying team, but San Jose made the race a little tighter with Moore coming in. To be honest, I hate watching San Jose play, period. I'd hate for us to have to play another series against them. -

I can't imagine Steve Ott in any other jersey than a Dallas Stars jersey. That said, I'd take him. -

Yeah, I wouldn't want him on this team. He's got quite the big mouth, and never backs it up. San Jose may have just tied Vancouver for most annoying team with this trade. -
Rick Nash "available for the right team/price"
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Jedi's topic in General
I wouldn't want to tinker with the team's chemistry that much right now, seeing as how we're playing stellar lately. If we're gonna make a serious push for Nash, lets just make a minor move or two at the deadline to gear us for the playoffs, see how everyone performs, and during the summer, decide who should be dealt for Nash. As far as Columbus' activity at the deadline, they're obviously gonna be sellers. I think Sammy Pahlsson will be dealt to a contender for a pick/prospect, and they may look to the waiver wire to fill the holes left. I've heard that Columbus is really looking at Brad Staubitz, and Todd Richards wants Howson to bring him to Columbus. Assuming they deal a bottom 6 player or two, they could pluck him from waivers, once Minnesota calls him back up from Houston. -

Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
His contract is quite hefty. I think it would be a gamble worth taking. He's 6'4", 220. 28 points in 43 games. Just turned 32. He would be the big body up front that we have been looking for. At the same time, we should be careful not to shake things up too much, this team has been playing stellar hockey since the All Star Break. I think a move or two at most will gear us up for a playoff run. Tampa sounds like they want to rebuild. I expect a couple more guys to be wheeled out of town before the end of the deadline. Dominic Moore is the first casualty of the rebuild under Stevie. -
Elias has really looked rejuvenated this year. I didn't mention Selanne because he is still playing at such a high level, I can't see him hanging em up after this year. He is worth mentioning though, simply because of his age.
