    Dallas Attendance

It has to have something to do with their most well-known guys like Modano, Lehtinen, and Zubov moving on. These guys were there for Dallas' Championship win over Buffalo. Looking around their arena tonight, I saw mostly Modano and Zubov jerseys, and the occasional Benn or Ribeiro jersey. Guys like Brenden Morrow and Steve Ott have been there a long time as well, so the fans are more familiar with them as opposed to a guy like Loui Eriksson. Even looking around the Joe, the majority of jerseys are Yzerman, Lidstrom, Fedorov, and Osgood. All guys were part of our glory years.

    Crosby coming back

I'd still take Kirk Maltby over Golden Boy.

    Matt Bradley on Alexander Semin

If Boudreau really wants Semin to shape up, he'll have John Erskine stare at him for a micro-second. He'll never talk back to Bruce again. +1

    Do They Deserve It?

Lidstrom will choose when he's ready to hang them up. Management won't. I think he may be leaning towards retirement, but that is pure speculation. Moss and Moen are both relatively cheap, and they have shown they're relatively consistent. We're not getting Selanne, so I don't know why people seem to think that's a possibility. No way Nashville is able to keep Suter and Weber after signing Rinne to that huge deal. Who knows how much New Jersey will want for Parise.

    Dallas Attendance

11,458 tonight in their win against Edmonton. I don't understand it. The Mavericks are in a lockout. Baseball season is over. The Cowboys don't play until Thanksgiving. The team is playing well.

    Eaves = Doghouse?

Yeah he seems like he gets along with everyone, from what I've seen anyway.

    Do They Deserve It?

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Parise Cleary-Filppula-Franzen Abdelkader-Helm-Moss Miller-Mursak-Moen Nyquist/Emmerton Suter-Kronwall White-Gleason Smith-Ericsson O'Brien Lidstrom, Holmstsrom, and Bertuzzi retire. Stuart, Commodore, and Hudler are let go. Parise to Detroit for Tatar, Kindl, and a pick at this year's trade deadline. Nyquist takes a top 6 spot. Mursak takes a 4th line spot. Take a chance on David Moss on a one year contract. Moss is a suburban Detroit native. 5 points in 15 games so far this year. Travis Moen is a defensively responsible veteran who won a Cup with Anaheim in 2007. Adds size and grit to the bottom 6. Grab Suter in free agency to fill Lidstrom's void. Gleason is a suburban Detroit native, and is younger than Stuart. He can join the rush as well as block shots. Shane O'Brien adds size to our blue line and kills penalties, as well as blocks shots.

    Edmonton Oilers

Don't look now, but the Oilers sit atop the Northwest Divison and tied for #1 in the Western Conference at 7-2-2. The young kids are really producing. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have lived up to the hype with 11 points in 11 games. Taylor Hall has produced 9 points in 10 games. Jordan Eberle has 10 points in 11 games. Ryan Smyth seems to have rejuvinated himself, scoring 10 points in 11 games, and served as a mentor for the young kids. Nikolai Khabibulin looks like he's returning to his former self. He is 5-0-2 with a .960 save percentage. Devan Dubnyk is 2-2 with a .938 save percentage. Theo Peckham and Andy Sutton have provided a scrappy, physical presence on the blueline. Now, it is still really early in the year, but the Oilers are awful fun to watch this year, and they look like they could be a contender, assuming the goal-tending continues to be solid, and the defense can stay healthy.

This one will make many Wings fans happy. Barch does a number on Clowe near the end of the game on Saturday. Pretty edgy game.

He's a known floater, but maybe he'd have chemistry with Datsyuk?

Jared Boll is a total gamer. Took on McGrattan the other night. He didn't do well, but add him to the very small list of guys who have the balls ton take him on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omNyV3ldLww&feature=player_detailpage Dorsett continues to rack up the fighting majors:

    Bottom Six Philosophy?

Can't agree with you more. I don't like Brunnstrom, and I was skeptical when we picked him up. I'm not sure what Kenny's thinking. We're getting blown out, and the other team's guys are running around at the end of the game when THEY'VE got a big lead, and we don't do anything. This team needs less pretty, and more gritty. Everyone praises Ken as being the best NHL GM in a long time, well its time for him to prove it. When your team plays like s*** for this long, you shake things up a bit. We're almost 20 games into the year, we're 4th in the Central. Grow a pair of balls, Ken.

Grow some balls and call the team out, Babs. Pansy.

    Bottom Six Philosophy?

We've got to get more physical up front. When it comes playoff time, we don't guys that will ferociously forecheck and wear down the opposition's defense. Many of our fowards are clearly too comfortable taking nights off. We need to bring in some new faces that actually want to play the game. Give 110% every shift. The type of work ethic we lost when Maltby and Draper retired. With Hudler, Brunnstrom, Bertuzzi, and Holmstrom likely to be let go (Barring some real improvement from Brun and Hud), obviously we'll see a few guys brought in. Are Eaves and Miller on one-year contracts? The big gunner for the top 6 is Parise, obviously. As far as bottom 6 forwards that can play a regular shift available this summer: Travis Moen Brandon Prust Kyle Brodziak Dan Carcillo Tanner Glass Tim Jackman Gregory Campbell Ryan Jones Brad Winchester Shawn Thornton Zenon Konopka Ryan Carter Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Parise Franzen-Filppula-Nyquist Abdelkader-Helm-Cleary Prust-Mursak-Eaves Emmerton

I'm happy he got penalized for it. No need for that. That being said, he drilled Rosehill. I'd like to see McGrattan and MacIntyre match up. Orr and Rosehill haven't gotten much time in Toronto's lineup this year. Mike Brown seems to have beat them out.
