    The 2012 Off-Season

As much as I like the way Doan plays, I really think we need to get younger. I mean he'll be good for another couple years, but a guy like Glencross has 9 points so far. He's responsible defensively. He can put up points, and he's a ferocious player on defense.

    Kronwall boarded, leaves STL game

Due to the fact that he's a top 6 player, he's off the hook.

    Mike Commodore

Haven't we gone over the fact that prospects are over-riped before they get a permanent roster spot? Where have you been? Because to some posters a "Useless piece of s*** that plays 6:40" is to fault for our lack of consistency among our "stars".

Didn't see it. Hopefully a video will be up soon.

Blame our top guns like Zetterberg, Datsyuk, or Franzen for the loss? Nah, lets blame Mike Commodore.

I'll second this. Boyle's turned into a decent all-around player since arriving in New York.

Konopka continues to kick ass. Although kicking Kostopopus' ass isn't a big accomplishment. Also, I'm growing awful tired of fights after good, clean, hard hits. Dorsett forced to answer after a solid hit:

11/15 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Blues 2

I feel like such a bad Red Wings fan. I only caught the 3rd period, and we looked sluggish, at best. Missed the Stewart hit on Kronwall. Power play was 0 for 6?

No way they can keep Rinne, Weber, and Suter.

Ryan Miller's opinion on Milan Lucic

We know Thomas isn't afraid to scrap. Miller may need to back his mouth up. Like I've said, Buffalo is pretty soft outside of Mr. McCormick.

I'd like to see us get younger. How about Curtis Glencross, instead of Doan? Tim Gleason instead of Stuart?

Ryan Miller's opinion on Milan Lucic

Yep. And the s***show that is NHL disciplinary action resumes. If you're gonna suspend every player that makes contact with the head on a hit, punish the star players as well. If you're gonna let everything go, let even the enforcers get away with it. There's no consistency, at all. We all thought Shanny would change things. I'll admit I was fooled too. I thought he meant business. Now, if Brian McGrattan goes out and smokes Steve Mason while he's attempting to play the puck, there better be no ******* suspension. The next time the Sabres play the Bruins, if Patrick Kaleta runs Tim Thomas, there better be no suspension. How ******* difficult is it? I have no problem with Lucic getting away with that. I have a problem when I know for a fact that guys get suspended for the last name on the back of their jersey.

Ryan Miller's opinion on Milan Lucic

The way things are called now, I expected to see a suspension. If Shawn Thornton runs Ryan Miller, however, he gets 5 games.

Ryan Miller's opinion on Milan Lucic

The birth of a rivalry? Lucic will likely get a few games. Outside of Cody McCormick, Buffalo is pretty soft. Gaustad doesn't fight much anymore. Kaleta is more of an agitator, but he'll fight from time to time. With Miller's comments, there's no way the following Bruins/Sabres game goes without some kind of incident.

    Will Stuart re-sign?

Just title it "Powerplay as our enforcer", otherwise it goes right to the garbage.
  21. Bring Back The Bruise Bros

    Will Stuart re-sign?

True. Lubomir Visnovsky is out for a month. Anaheim's defense is awful thin, right now, so that makes a lot of sense.

    Season-Long Lines Thread

No way Holland trades any of them, though. Whether we like it or not, the players in the top 6 aren't going anywhere. The way i see it, we'll be lucky if Hudler is let go. Cleary has looked awful out of place.
  23. Bring Back The Bruise Bros

    Will Stuart re-sign?

That would make sense. Where would we fit him in, though? Parros is out for like a month with a torn retina. Took a puck to the face in practice. Doubt he'll come back with a visor on. Anaheim has a lot of younger, quicker guys coming up in the system. Not sure if the Ducks will reserve a spot for an enforcer, or not.
  24. Bring Back The Bruise Bros

    Season-Long Lines Thread

Assuming Bertuzzi, Lidstrom, and Holmstrom retire, Hudler is let go, and Stuart leaves in search of a job closer to home, how about something like: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen Cleary-Filppula-Nyquist Abdelkader-Helm-Glencross Moen-Mursak-Eaves Miller Suter-Kronwall Gleason-White Ericsson-O'Brien Kindl O'Brien and Kindl can rotate in and out of the lineup. It's probably a little too early to see if Hudler is actually let go. The loyalty factor could be what keeps him here. We get a lot younger, while keeping a lot of veteran championship experience with Datsyuk and Zetterberg.
  25. Bring Back The Bruise Bros

    Will Stuart re-sign?

Do you think they'll have him in GR for another year? Or do you think he'll be a full-time Wing next year? I think they'll give him a few games next year, but they typically wait till they're "Over-ripe".
