Got the win tonight. Steve Mason looked good in net for the first time in a while.
-
He's got some explosive potential, but has gotten off to a slow start this year.
-
I loved that quote by him back when he was with Detroit. I hope he finds his way back into the Rangers lineup, or someone picks him up. He's only 31, I think he's still got something to offer. Continuing the memories of him as a Wing:
-
I was surprised to see him fight Chris Stewart early in the year, knowing he's got glass hands. GM Joe Nieuwendyuk is looking smart right about now. I don't think White has looked horrible. I think Stuart has looked particularly bad. It's awful doom and gloom around here. It's a 4 game slide. Things need to be shaken up, and we'll be fine.
-
I'd be a fan of it, as long as he kept his mouth shut. He's shown time and time again that he can be an extremely effective player when he wants to play hockey.

I'm just ready to take down the Packers -
This team needs more Garnet Exelby.
-
The latter would be nice. But seriously, he hasn't looked terrible so far. Not great, but not horrible.
-
Maybe he's predicting Hudler will get injured before next game and be out for a while?
-
I love that line. They stuck with it in the beginning of the year, and kind of moved away from it the last few games, if i remember correctly.
-
If he stuck to just playing hockey, he could help a lot of teams. I don't understand why Avery gets the same amount of hate as a guy like Cooke. Sure, Avery's a s***head and a spotpicker, but he hasn't ended anyone's career with a cheap-shot. I wouldn't mind having him here, if he kept his mouth shut. I don't see where he would fit into the Rangers lineup. They could send Kris Newbury back down to the AHL, and have Erik Christensen sit in the press box, but I'm not sure what they want to do with him.

Parros is one of only about a handful of guys that even have the balls to take on McGrattan. -
Maybe if we claim Avery off re-entry waivers, we'll win the Cup like we did in 2002 when he was on our roster. Amirite?

Good stuff from his rookie days here

With all the great chances the Wild had, it easily could have been 5-0 if Jim didn't stand on his head. -
Ok, firesale. How about: Backes-E.Staal-Stamkos Benn-Clowe-Downie Carcillo-Dorsett-Clarkson McGrattan-Prust-Hordichuk Weber-Lidstrom Phaneuf-Giordano Wilson-Erskine

why this season will not be different...
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Berry's topic in General
I realize he's been such a great story since making the team on a tryout after the lockout, but its hard to ignore how bad Cleary has looked. 2 points in his first 9 games. Zetterberg hasn't looked much better. We definitely had our chances tonight, and ran into a hot goaltender in Harding. That's not an excuse for losing 4 in a row, though. I think we are finally really seeing the effects of an aging core of players. I'm not saying we won't make the playoffs. I think we'll bounce back. Something is definitely not right, though. I will say that the future looks grim, with this looking like it could be Lidstrom's last season. If we look this bad with him back there, how will we look when he isn't? Unless we make a move or two, this team is not a legit Cup contender. That being said, I think we will bounce back and make the playoffs, with this current roster. In the short term, take someone (Stuart?) out and place Commodore in his place, just to shake it up a little. Kronwall and Stuart have looked sluggish, pinching at the absolute worst times and often getting burned. -

I agree. I think Sutton will get a few games, as well. Especially since he's got a history of suspensions, too. -

I don't like the ruling on Carcillo. There wasn't vicious intent. Definitely a reputation call. Sutton's past with suspensions will come back to haunt him when he is sentenced, as well. The next hit that will be under the microscope will be Francois Bauchemin's hit on Mike Fisher earlier tonight. No videos of the hit up just yet. -

Our D was caught pinching a few times in the first. We're lucky we're not down by more.
