Trade between Florida and Vancouver
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to P. Marlowe's topic in General
Sounds like they're just trying to get rid of Reinprecht's salary. I don't think he's played a game for them so far this year. Weird seeing Sturm get traded so early in the season, after they went out and signed him in the offseason. -

The one night I miss the Wings, they run their opponent out of the building and Ericsson does well against Dorsett in a scrap. Nobody in the Joe was sitting down for that one -

I believe it ranges from 2,000 to 4,000. -

It would be interesting to hear Roenick's take on it now. -
In my opinion, the 3rd line of Abdelkader-Helm-Bertuzzi should stay together. They've looked very solid at both ends of the ice.

Doesn't surprise me that Nazarov shied away from him. One of the premier spotpickers when he played. I agree that it is weird knowing Zhamnov is employing these guys. There's no doubt that Yablonski, Gratton and these other dips***s could take a punch, but they're a disgrace to enforcers and I'll never respect them for their antics the last few years in the KHL. Can't handle guys who can hold their own, so... -

I'm looking for videos to post of Nazarov getting beat down, but there's so many that you'd be up watching videos all night. Seriously. -

Just a few examples of why Brennan decided to bolt and beat up guys a foot shorter than him in Russia. -
The Official NHL Suspension Thread

Updated. I think a minor penalty would've been enough, but I'm not gonna throw a fit about this one. A bit excessive, though. -

I can't wait for one of the goalies or the skilled players they randomly pound on to just haul off with their stick. These guys are an absolute disgrace to the sport of hockey. -
No, because Ward weights 185 and Rask weighs 170 soaking wet. I know you're awful sensitive, but nice try.

He's not innocent either, but I do cut him some slack because we've seen him take on Colton Orr, Jay Rosehill, and Eric Boulton. When he does fight the big guys, he typically doesnt do well. At the same time, he's picked fights with guys like Josef Melichar. He is not the premier power forward in today's NHL, but I do consider him a power forward.

Came here to post this. They seem to be awful tough and in your face when they play softer teams like Carolina and Montreal. Funny how Chara shies away from guys his size but he'll sure as hell go after the smaller guys like Cam Ward and Jay Harrison. One of the biggest frauds in the league. I would've liked to see Gleason and Horton go. Good stage-setter for following matchups. Cam Ward would've killed little Tukka Rask. The Bruins spot-picking is really starting to bother me. We'll see how eager they are to toss cheapshots when they play Ottawa, who really has nothing to lose already. These guys aren't the tough guys of hockey.

Minor news, but news nonetheless: Jackets recall Cody Bass from AHL Springfield.

There aren't many that irritate me more than Joe Thornton. I hope he never gets his name on the Cup. Even though many don't like Corey Perry, I'd be happy to have in Detroit. He doesn't run his mouth as much as he used to, but he's still an agitating player.

I can't remember the last time Kostopoulos held his own in a scrap. I'm not a huge fan of Brown either, but he gets the best of the NHL's punching bag here.

"Detroit the hottest option for Zuccarello Aasen"
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to a topic in General
Agreed. There just simply isn't any room. We're overcrowded already. On a semi-related note, former Griff/Wing Kris Newbury was called up by the Rangers to take the place of Zuccarello. -
Mike Brown Cranks Tom Kostopoulos

I can see where he would annoy some people. Janssen bothers the s*** out of one of my friends, too. He can't stand when he waives off the refs during a fight, but it's not like he's the first to do it. Downey and Barnaby used to do it, too. He just doesn't really bother me. He'll fight anyone. He fought Belak multiple times. Scrapped with big John Scott a few times last year. Gave up half a foot when he fought David Koci. He's like a less versatile Tie Domi. -
Its because Jared Boll is out. Derek Dorsett can't carry the team all by himself.

Cam got smoked, but i admire him for taking on a much bigger guy. Janssen is one of the only handful of guys that will fight McGrattan. I guess McGrattan was quoted the other night after Nashville's game with Phoenix and he said something along the lines of "Bissonnette wouldn't even look at me". I don't really look at Biznasty as a heavyweight. -
Veterans Players Choosing to Wear visors/ Younger Players Going Withou
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
I think he wore one as a rookie. Hey, as long as he's winning Norris Trophies, i can't really complain I remember hearing something about the Hawks coaching staff wanting nobody wearing a visor in the early '90s, too. I think it should be left up to the players, but that's just me. Personally, I'd like to do what i did above with the other 29 NHL teams, but it would take a while and a lot of space for posts, not to mention some posters on here probably don't care much about the % of hockey players that wear a visor vs. the % that don't. I know the NHL did a study on it last year, but i'd like to do it again, taking into account the rookies. Once a player dresses for one regular season game, they're included in the count. -

I still say Lidstrom doesn't look right with the visor on, but I understand why he decided to wear one. Of the players that have dressed for us so far this regular season, 14 wear a visor: 1. Pavel Datsyuk 2. Henrik Zetterberg 3. Valtteri Filppula 4. Dan Cleary 5. Jiri Hudler 6. Patrick Eaves 7. Darren Helm 8. Justin Abdelkader 9. Drew Miller 10. Corey Emmerton 11. Nicklas Lidstrom 12. Niklas Kronwall 13. Jakub Kindl 14. Brad Stuart And 5 don't: 1. Todd Bertuzzi 2. Johan Franzen 3. Tomas Holmstrom 4. Ian White 5. Jonathan Ericsson -

I didn't catch the game. I was busy watching the Tigers get their asses kicked It was a good run for us though. -

Thanks I couldn't embed the video, i'm not sure why. Make ya a deal, if it goes back up, you won't see another one of these threads from me And I'll have you know I used a great amount of restraint from making a thread on McGrattan's marathon scrap with Janssen tonight
